Chapter 33

I felt an immense pain in my stomach.

Sh*t, what is that?

I tried opening my eyes, but they felt like there were super glued together.

I forced my eyes to open, but immediately regretted it.

A bright light shined down on me, and it nearly blinded me.

This f*cking light is brighter than my future.

"What the-"

"Take it easy, Vitani," I heard a voice say.

I looked over to my right and saw an old lady standing next me.

"Who are you?" I asked. She smiled.

"I'm your doctor," she replied.

I started getting flash backs of what had happened, and the last thing I remembered was the awful sound of a gun being fired.

"Where is Atticus?" I growled.

"Please, Vitani, calm down. You had something tragic happen to you. The best thing to do is to not get angry," she said, walking over and putting an arm on my shoulder.

"Something tragic?" I asked.

Did Atticus die? Please, don't let Atticus have died.

"I'm so sorry, but you lost a baby. They were twins, but one of them died. How the other survived is beyond me," she said.

I started crying soon as she said that.

I lost a kid. I lost a baby.

"And where is Atticus?" I asked, sniffing and wiping my tears.

The lady cringed, as if she hadn't wanted me to ask that.

"Where is my mate?" I growled, sitting up from the bed and narrowing my eyes at her.

"The Alpha was shot with a bullet made of wolfsbane. He was very strong and held in his pain. He wanted to see you but..."
