All We Knew

Chapter 1

Chapter 1: this summer

I open my eyes slowly and am blinded by the rays of sun shining through the window. My vision slowly comes into focus and I am greeted by day light. Slowly realizing I was on the couch and I wasn't alone. Comforted by Dans hands that were placed around me as he slept. I smile and look at his hair that is now thrown about his face. I close my eyes again snuggling into his chest. Listening to his faint heartbeat.

I hear him mumble slightly as if he was waking up and reopen my eyes. I stare into his eyes realizing he is now awake. He smiles at the sight of me. "Hello beautiful" he speaks softy in his calming British accent. I smile blushing. "Hi" I then reply giggling. He squeezes me tighter and I let out a squeal. Blushing again.

He lets go if me and I sit up. Dan then proceeds to follow sitting up as well. I quickly glance at him smirking. He gives me a smile again leading us into an awkward stare down. I turn away giggling. I feel a tickle in my stomach as I always do around him. It's this sort of mixed emotion feeling, making you unable to stop smiling. Better known as love.

I look at the clock still smirking. It was about 10:30. I walk into the kitchen expecting to see my mother but am instead left with her absence. Someone slides there hands along my waist and hugs me from behind. I realize it is Dan and smile, then turning around to face him. His hands now around my waist. He smiles at me and kisses my forehead.

When he moves away from the kiss I notice him glance over my shoulder. "Where's your mum?" He asks looking a bit puzzled. I reply with a shrug."I'm sure she's asleep" I added. "Do you think she'll be mad?" He asks again. I become confused. "Why would she be mad?" I ask in return. "I don't know... Cause I stayed over night" Dan shrugs unsure. I could tell he felt awkward.

"No. Of course not!" I reply more seriously. He looks down and nods. I slowly move my arms to his neck and he looks back up. I smile at him trying to end the awkward silence. Dan smiles slowly grows, and he leans down kissing my lips softly as he closes his eyes. I do the same blushing slightly as I always do.

I then smirk, the butterflies in my stomach out of control and I feel the urge to scream but stay silent. Still smiling uncontrollably I slide my hand down his arm and intertwine my fingers with his. I leave the kitchen and walk back to the couch dragging him with me. I sit down and Dan places himself beside me.

"I love you Dan" I speak smiling. I stare into his big brown eyes and he smiles too blushing. "Not as much as I love you kitten" he smirks with a reply. I smile blushing and rest my head on his shoulder. Dan puts his hand around me and we both watch the TV.

I hear a buzzing noise so I look around hoping to find the source, just to relize it was Dan's phone vibrating off the table. "Do you mind?" Dan asks politely. "No it's fine!" I reply taking my head of his shoulder. I watch as he grabs his phone then standing up.

"Hello?" He speaks. All I could hear was muffled voices through the phone. "Oh! Hi Mitch!" Dan says with a smile. "Yea.... When?" He asks with a puzzled look. "That's great! Hold on..." Dan then puts the phone on speaker. "Ok well the plan is to leave on Saturday so you have two days to pack." Mitch says over the phone.

I become confused. A trip? Where are we going? I ask myself. "Wait what?" I blurt out, then standing up I step over to Dan. "Me and the other guys decided that we are going to rent a flat for the summer. Girlfriends are invited." Mitch explained. Dan winked at me raising an eyebrow and I laughed. "Where's the house?" I ask still smirking. "Well... It's in LA..." Mitch replays.

"What!?! Are you kidding! That's at the other side of the country! Why so far away!?!" I blurt out. There's silence on the other line. "The flats there are nicer and the beaches are beautiful... I don't know..." Mitch replies worried. Dan looks at me. "Well do you want to go?" He asks softly. I smile. "Of course" I reply.

"Yea buddy!" Mitch yells into the phone. I then here mumbling in the back round of a girls voice. "Is she going?" The girl asks. Right away I knew who it was. "Lena!" I yell into the phone snatching it from Dans hands. "Your going too!?!" I ask. She must have then grabbed the phone. "Yea! Your going?" Lena asks back. "Yep" I reply.

"Who else is going?" Dan asks. I hold the phone in between me and Dan. I hear Lena talking softer "Mitch who is going?" She asks. There is some mumbling before she answers with a reply. "Um... Adam, Preston, Jerome, Scar of course and then Adam and Person's girlfriends... I don't really know them very well..." She answers.

I was surprised. "That's a lot of people... How are all of us going to fit in a house?" I asked. Lena paused before speaking. "I think it's like a mansion or something." I started to get lost in a train of thought. Dan look at me and I could tell he was thinking too. "Uh... What is the money situation? Are we going by plane?" Dan asks.

"Oh well we are going to drive to save money and we are gonna car pool... Me and Mitch can drive to your place and pick you up, it's on the way. For money the situation, we decided to just split the bill for the house among everyone." Lena replied. There was silence on both ends of the phone.

"Ok that's fine" I reply followed by Dan. "how much money are we talking about?" He asks. "Maybe like $700 to $800 each? I'm not sure..." Lena replies. "Ok." Dan replies. Then followed by an awkward silence. Mitch takes the phone back. "Yea... So we will be at your house by Saturday at 12. Sound ok?" Mitch asks. "Yep sounds good! See you then" Dan answers. "Ok bye" Mitch says. "Bye" me and Dan speak in unison.

Dan then proceeded to hang up the phone. He looked at me smirking. I smiles back blushing. He puts his hands on my waist and I put my hands on his neck. He smiles. "We are going to LA!" Dan speaks loudly and makes an excited face. I laugh replying. "Yea we are"
