Chapter 30

Chapter 30: what's happening

"It's ok, just calm down, what happen?" Dan spoke softly releasing me from the hug. "It was just a bad dream" I stuttered. "Well I'm glad your ok..." Dan smiled. I smiled back uncontrollably. His smile made me feel so happy. "Where is everyone? What happen? Where's Bridget and Rebeca" I began to panic.

"It's ok, Bridget's mom came and picked her up, Baylee is in surgery and Adam is with her. You just have a concision but we can leave whenever you want" Dan replied. "What about Rebeca?" I asked noticing he hadn't mentioned her name. Dan looked down as if he were dazed and hesitated. "Um..." He mumbled. "Oh... " I said knowing what he was about to say. I don't even know why I asked cause I already knew the answer. "Yea..." Dan replied.

"Can we leave then?" I asked. "Yep! Whenever your ready!" Dan replied with a smile. Despite Dan's happy expression I could tell there was something off about it. Maybe just a bad feeling but he didn't seam ok. I can see it in his eyes. I felt my expression become worried as I thought about Dan's feelings. "Are you ok?" Dan's expression was now also worried. "Oh yeah fine!" I replied smiling to a sure him everything was ok.

"I'm going to go change" I said grinning. Dan handed me my clothes that were on a dresser in the room as I got up. I grabbed the clothes and began to walk to the bathroom. I turned back and glanced at Dan before entering. He was staring at the ground his facial expression worrying. When he realized I was staring he looked up and grinned. I could tell he was faking it. I then entered the bathroom and changed into some new clothes.

When I was done I exited back into the room. Dan was still in the same spot. He jumped up when I stepped out. "Ready?" He asked. "Yep!" I smiled. Dan walked over to me grabbing my hand, and squeezing it a bit tightly. Dan then proceeded to walk me out to the car. Opening my door as I stepped in. I took a deep breath. "It's ok... It's just a car..." I whispered to myself. Dan ran to the other side and got in, grabbing my hand right after buckling his seatbelt.

I smiled and he started the car. Dan drove out of the parking lot and our adventure began. I was hoping the flashbacks wouldn't come back. I began thinking about Dan again. Hoping he was ok. I wanted him to let his emotions out. "Are you ok?" I blurted out softly. "What?" Dan asked not sure what I said. "Are you ok?" I hesitated, speaking louder.

"Oh..." Dan paused. He then looked back at the road without a reply. "I guess in just shaken up from every going on..." He said softly. I looked at him and once again the worrying look came back. I didn't know what to say. "I'll be fine." Dan added looking back at me. Still unsure how to react I stayed quiet.

Dan reached over and clicked the power button for the radio. It was on the rock channel, both of us being huge band fans. I listened to the song for a few seconds realizing it was 'Im Not Ok (I Promise)' by my favorite band My Chemical Romance. I started listening to the lyrics and I realized how much it explained my current emotion and I'm sure for Dan as well. "I'm not ok... I'm not okayay. I'm not okayay. You wear me out." I whispered to the melody.

I looked out the window and the area became familiar and I knew we were back in the area near the house. We stoped in the driveway and I got out of the car. Closing the door behind me. I stood on the driveway pavement motionless. I just kind of spaced our into thoughts.

I began to wonder why both of the near death experiences I had gone through could have been purposely directed at me or Dan. I mean out of everyone in the group it has happen to us both times.

"Alice?" Dan spoke making me jump. "Oh.. Yea?" I replied playing it off. "Let's go inside" I added smiling. Dan grabbed my hand tightly as we walked inside together. Dan began to jingle around with the key trying to unlock it. Someone must have heard because the door swung open. We were greeted by Felix. I was surprised. I didn't think him and Marzia would be here already. Felix had a big smile as he let us in. His eyes a bright blue with joy. "Hey" Felix said, leading us into the living room. I sat on the couch and curled up into a ball.

"So how have you been Felix?" Dan asked. As Felix began to speak his voice died out into silence as I began to think again. I want to know what's going on. I want to at least understand.
