Chapter 18

Chapter 18: let the fun begin

We finnaly arive at the mall after me having a dreadful car ride. I basically cringed and covered my face the whole time. I couldn't wait to exit the car. We go inside and instantly Baylee sprints with Paige to the GameStop located near the entrance. Lena, Scar, Megan and I follow them into the GameStop.

The first think I saw were adds for the XboxOne and PS4. Then I saw the COD: Ghosts preorders on a shelf. "Can we go to Hot Topic? I have all these games..." I asked Lena. Scar and Megan went over to Baylee and Paige, leaving me and Lena alone.

"Yea, sure lets go!" She says. I smile and lead her back into the main area in the mall to start our journey to hot topic. "So... Are you and Mitch ok?" I ask her. "Well our relationship is great! But I don't think any of us are really mentally stable at the moment..." Lena explains. "Yea I know what you mean. Since the accident, everything is so different. I can't stop seeing it happen over in my head." I say looking down at the tiles we walked along.

Lena looks over at me it stays silent. "It only happen two days ago. I think all of us are just in shock still. It's a lot to take in. We are all lucky we're alive... Especially Dan" Lena adds. Even the mention of his name gave me a odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. I nod unable to speak.

"Have you spoke to Dan? Is he ok?" Lena asks concerned. I look up not sure how to answer. I was debating whether to tell her about what I had hear Dan say before leaving to come to the mall. "Um... I haven't talked to him much, but I think he's just confused from the memory loss and stuff." I reply, leaving out what I overheard Dan say.

"Well that's better then nothing right?" She asks. I nod letting out a small giggle and she laughs. I was trying my best to forget about it. We finally got to Hot Topic. Right away i notice an Adventure Time shirt, that was all black. It had Marceline playing her guitar while floating as a pattern in the center. The words "I'm just your problem" were places around Marceline.

It was perfect. I ran over to it, examining the sized. "Medium" I whispered to myself while taking a medium sized shirt from the pile. I had to get bigger sizes because of my hight. Shirts never fit right otherwise. I walked to the register and placed my shirt on the counter. "Is that it?" A girl with red hair and piercings asked. I nodded with a smile.

"All our items are buy one get one half off, are you sure there's nothing else?" She asked. I looked around once more. There was a batman shirt at the back of the room. I knew Paige would love it! "Hey Lena can you get a batman shirt for Paige?" I asked Lena for me. She got the shirt quickly and came back. The woman rang up the clothes and we left.

As we started are walk back to GameStop we began to talk again. "Why didn't you buy anything?" I asked, to strike conversation. "I didn't really see anything I wanted..." Lena replied simply. I shrugged unsure what else to say. I then saw all the other girls walking in our direction. "They must have got bored of GameStop" Lena joked. We walked quicker to catch up with them.

When we finally meet up with them I took out the batman shirt from my bag. "Surprise!" I said. Instantly, Paige knew it was for her and her eyes lit up. "Batman!" She screamed. I felt as if right as she screamed everyone else in the entire mall went silent she screamed so loud. We all just laughed. Paige snatched the shirt from my hand and held it tightly.

"There's nothing else here... Let's just leave" Baylee said. Of course because all she wanted to come for was the video games. I rolled my eyes. Everyone giggles a bit before we went out to the car and started another terrifying drive home.
