Chapter 3

Chapter 3: the incident

We are about 3 hours into our trip. Lena and Mitch fell asleep from boredom, Dan's driving, and I'm just lost in my train of thought as usual. Some Coldplay is on the radio. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I grab my phone and check my twitter. I have a bunch of notifications from my youtube fans. Just the usual I love you please follow me and stuff.

I click the little icon in the corner to make a tweet. I write 'on the road to LA for the summer!! Any fans in California ;)'. "send!" I mumble. "Half way there" Dan huffs, going into the left lane.

I smirk laughing slightly "it's not that bad" I reply. Dan shrugs still focused on the road. I look back down at my phone and there is a bunch of twitter notifications. I decide to answer some tweets and make people's day.

I look through the retweets most of them saying stuff like where are you gonna be, and yay I'll see you. I reply with a see ya there and a winkie face.

Dan's phone starts buzzing. He looks down at it realizing it's twitter notifications. "Great you got them bugging me now" Dan jokes. I laugh quickly, becoming bored again. My phone buzzes. I look down and it's Adam.

Adam says "We are out at lunch and a bunch of fans just like attacked us lmfaooo". I smirk wondering if it was possibly my fault. "Lol is the house nice?" I type sending a reply. It's a few moments before my phone buzzes again signaling that he replied.

"It's really sweet! Right on the water! And there's like 5 bedrooms!" The message said. "Adam said the house is really big and it's on the water" I tell Dan. He smiles. "Tell him we have like 3 hours left" Dan replies. I nod trying away. "We are 3 hours away" I write.

I close my phone and glance out the window. Looking at the other cars that we drive along next to. Listening to the music. I suddenly get an uneasy feeling in the out of my stomach. My phone buzzes again.

I check it. "We will probably be out for a while, got some fans to take selfies with lol" Adam writes. I smile at his comment and reply "I can't wait for the selfies! Haha" closing my phone again.

Dan is silent as he drives. I lean deeper in my seat still feeling uneasy. I feel my eyes start to close slightly but I force them back open. Hoping not to fall asleep because I feel bad for Dan.

It's only 4:00 stay awake! I convince myself. But it's too late my eyes shut and I start to sleep. Still aware of sounds from around me but unable to open my eyes.

My phone buzzes startling me and I wake up. I then glance down at my phone realizing I took a short 10 minute nap and Adam finally answered. "More fans what is this! It's been like 2 hours!" Adam says. I reply sarcastically "it's actually 3 hours" joking. I'm looking down at my phone waiting for Adam to reply because it says he's typing.

"Oh shit!" Dan yells. I look out the front window and my heart drops. Time slows down and all I see are head lights coming directly at us. Someone has swerved over to the wrong side of the road going at least 80MPH, and us going 60. I feel as if my heart stoped beating.

We are going to die I think to myself. I watch as the car slowly gets closer. Looking over at Dan slowly and noticing the fear in his eyes. He is jamming on the breaks but the car is barely stoping. I turn my head slowly back out the front window.

The car is now about an inch away. I see it contact the front of our car spot on and the front of the car crinkles as time speeds up and I feel my body fly forward. Then it all went black.
