Chapter 12: home sick already?

We all jammed into one car and have now arrived at the flat. As we drive through the long drive way I feel the anticipation fill my stomach and I get excited. Then I see it. A huge mansion with grey shingles and a black roof. It had some gray shaded rocks around the doorway. There were lots of big windows all around the house, and nice gardens to accent the house.

Everyone just stared out the window in awe and I did the same. Baylee who had been driving stopped the car and we all stepped out. "Wow..." Mitch said as we all stood in a line staring. "Wait till you get inside" Adam said with a grin. "How can we afford this place?" Dan asks looking at me. I look over at him. "You get money from your youtube channel and so do I" I reply.

I could tell by his face he was puzzled. "It's not like I'm famous or anything... It's just a youtube channel" Dan spoke looking confused. I smirked. "But you are famous... We all are!" I exclaimed. "Wait... I'm famous?" He asked in disbelief. "Yep!" I smile. "This is a joke isn't it..." Dan scrunches his eyebrows, being totally serious. "I'm not kidding..." I speak as serious as possible so he doesn't think I'm lying.

He holds back a smile and I can tell. I start smirking and he burst into laughter. I just smile. I love his laugh. "Let's go inside!" Baylee says grabbing my arm and pulling me away from Dan. I glance back at him and he smirks still staring at me. I turn back forward and look at Baylee. "Thanks for that..." I whisper sarcastically. "No problem" she smiles. We step inside and it's even more beautiful then I imagined.

A staircase went along the wall to left of the door in half a spiral that lead to a balcony that was strait ahead when you walked in. The first room you enter was very open and had a high ceiling to fit the balcony and stairs. I saw a huge kitchen to the right and a living room to the right. "Follow me!" Baylee said dragging me to the back of the house.

We got to a room that was fairly large and it had a piano and a few book shelves. Also a high ceiling. In the room one entire wall was windows from ceiling to floor and there was a glass door leading to the outdoor balcony with a jaw dropping view. The house was right on the water and you could see the ocean for miles. Baylee opened the glass door and dragged me outside.

"Just look at the view!" She said leaning onto the railing. I looked down at the waves crashing onto the sand. Listening to the calming sounds of the ocean. I smile but then it hits me. We are going to be staying here for 2 to 3 months. Dan no longer knows me, my mom is at home, I'm not good friends with the boys here, the only people I'm really close with are Baylee, and Lena. What am I going to do!?! My smile slowly fades.

"Alice... What's wrong?" Baylee steps closer to me. I looked up at her. "Oh... I'm fine..." I say looking back down. There was a small silence. "Alice... Look at me..." Baylee says ending the silence. I look at her and let her talk. "I told you I was here if you needed to to talk... You can tell me anything" she added.

"I guess I'm just confused..." I say staring back at the water and out at the beach. I could tell she was still staring at me. "With all this happening... The accident, and now staying here for a few months" I pause. Still stuck deeply in thought. "I was expecting to come here with my boyfriend... But now... He's just a stranger" I add. Baylee is silent.

"Well you have me and Lena... I mean we aren't much but it's not like your alone" She jokes. Her joke makes me crack a small smile, distracting me from thinking. The thoughts rush back and the smile disappears. "I just need some rest I guess" I say running my fingers through my hair. Finally taking my eyes off the water and stepping back from the railing. "I'll show you your room..." Baylee speaks but I could tell she was still concerned about me.

We walked back into the main room and followed Baylee upstairs. She walked along the balcony to the last door on the left. Opening the door. "Here you go" she said. I stepped inside. Realizing that my bag was on the bed along with Dan's. The room was painted a sky blue color and there was a big window showing the view of the beach off the back of the house. The bead sheets had different shades of blue poka-dots all lined up in line up.

"I like it!" I say with a grin on my face.
