"Pico I'm freaking out man, what if he's beating her right now." I say in a frantic voice to Pico over the phone. "Man you can't do nothing, that's not your business. Macarevhic this girl is nothing but trouble and you're gonna end up getting hurt or worse.

If Ebony wants you to save her she will tell you. She ain't gonna leave that dude for you right now, maybe never. In other words, it's not your business to be in and she's not your girl. So, it's not your duty to protect her." Pico say on the other end.

"I love this girl Pico, it is my business. I'm gonna go save her." I hang up and hop out of my car. Is started to go home, but I turned around. I got to save Ebony. I might be making a mistake but if love made sense then the world would be a lot crazier than it is now. I stand outside her door, I can hear Arod yelling. How long has this been going on?

I try the door knob but the door is locked. I take a small pocket knife out of my pocket and pick the lock, and it opens easily. The apartment is a mess. It's old and rundown. I can't believe that they live in here. I walk slowly to the closed bedroom door, where the screaming and yelling has gotten louder.

I bust open the door, and I find Arod is about to strike Ebony again. I grab Arod by his shirt and pull him off of her. The anger inside of me has turned into an uncontrollable rage. I punch Arod in his jaw; I punch him again and again until he rushes out of the apartment limping and bloody.

I go back into Ebony's small room, and she is laying on the bed in shock. I lookdown at her, and this is the worst I've seen her. It makes me want to kill Arod. A few years ago I would've killed him.

"Come on angel." I pick her up and I carry her to my house. Arod probably will come back to finish his damage. I pull in my drive way, and carefully sweep up Ebony in my arms. She's sleeping now. I ring the doorbell, and my Abulea open the door. Her light brown hazel eyes grow big with concern. "Macarevhic who is this girl?" Abulea asks me.

"She's a girl from my school, I caught her boyfriend beating up on her. I brought her here." Abulea hurriedly gesture for me to come in. "Gloria, come out quick!" Abulea says in panic voice. Mama rushes out of her room, dressed in seat pants and white thank top. "What's wrong?" Her eyes land son Ebony, who is stills sleeping.

"Oh Macarevhic." ma whispers. "I had to help her ma." Her eyes changes from shock to understanding. "I know son." I carry Ebony in to my room and lay her on my made up bed. "Do you know what happened to her?" ma ask, as she carries in the First Aid kit. "I saw her boyfriend beating up on her, so I scared him away." Mama dabs at Ebony's face with peroxide, and it makes her wince. "She reminds me of who I used to be." mama says to herself.

"What is she to you son?" "She's a girl from my school." I half-heartily answer. "Just a classmate, well it doesn't seems like that to me." "Macarevhic leave so I can try to fix her up and see if anything is broken." mama orders. I leave out and close my door behind me.
