For the past three weeks Ebony has been avoiding me and Arod again. The word is Arod is looking for her after her fight with Drita. Arod is looking like a lost lunatic. Everybody is saying that they are broken up. Ebony seems fine; I don't see any bruises or scars. We say a few words to each other in Chemistry class but that's it.

I can't stop loving her and the fact that we're back to square one doesn't help me either. Thanksgiving is a week away and I'm look forward to a week off from school, and maybe I won't think about Ebony during the holiday break. The bells rings and I look at Ebony packing up her bag. Just say something Macarevhic. I can't' how can I say something to her.

She barley talks to me now. Maybe it ain't meant to be for us. Time heals all wounds. "Hey, Macarevhic can I talk to you for a second?" asks Ebony. I'm shocked she wants to talk to me. "Yeah sure." "I want to say sorry for how I'd acted a few weeks back. I know it was wrong to leave how I left and I never got to say I'm sorry or thank you to your mama and grand ma." "It's alright Ebony, they're not mad at all. My mother understands." I say honestly. An idea pops up into my head and I can't believe I'm about to say this.

"How about you and your sister come to my house for Thanksgiving dinner; It'll be fun and some more of my relatives will be coming. It'll be fun and my mama and grandma did say they would like to see you again." Ebony is deep in thought, and it looks as if she's making a tough decision.

"Ivory and I are having dinner with Ruth." Ruth...Oh Ruth! "The cafeteria lady." I say suspiciously. "She's more than a cafeteria lady." Ebony defends. "She can some too. It'll be really fun." "I'm not promising anything, let me ask Ruth and Ivory, and I'll let you know." she tells me, but the smile on her face tells me to tell mama to set three extra plates at the table.

"Well thanks for the invite and I'll see you later Macarevhic." I can't control my happiness. She could actual spend thanksgiving with me, and maybe I can win her heart. Maybe it is meant for us to be together. I cannot get to unhappy, something tells me she's still messing with Arod. As long as she keeps Arod around there will never be any room for me. My mama was like that she couldn't have any friends.

The only person she could make room for in her life was me and my dad didn't like that. That's why she would always get beaten, and he was angry at her for not getting an abortion.

The only brake she got from his abuse was when she pregnant with me. I walk to my car and there is Pocco eating a half melted snickers bar, and it could be all over my seats. "What's up Macarevhic," Pocco greets. "You need your own ride and a heavy supply of napkins." I joke. "Ha-ha, I'm tying to put on some weight, chicas don't dig skinny dudes." I laugh again. "They dig muscles." I correct him.

"Yeah, yeah whatever, hey you're going to the basket ball game tonight?" Pocco asks. "I might, go. I don't know yet." "You should go have some fun." Pocco pushes. "Man dude you just want a ride to the game." I cal him out. "So, don't I give you gas?"

"Man you ain't gave me no gas in three years." "But I used to." Pocco points out. This dude is my brother and he looks out for me, and I do the same, and nothing will ever change that. But I wonder how are friends, we seem so different. I laugh to myself. Later that night Pocco and I are sitting in the packed gym, everybody is here, and I search the audience repeatedly for Ebony. Maybe she won't show up tonight.

"Who you keep looking for?" Pocco asks, munching on some popcorn. "Nobody, just worry about your popcorn." I tell. "Aye, I got this covered and I'm also checking out those young tenderonis over there." He gestures to the cheerleaders, that have now taken the floor. Wait a minute, did Pocco just say tenderonis? I laugh at him. "This is why I pay five dollars to come to a game. I look in the audience again and I spot her. I see Ebony. She's wearing white capris, a, light blue shirt, and some white jordans.

Her long black hair is pulled to a side ponytail. She's sitting in the stands with her friend and they all share a laugh. I turn my attention back to the cheerleaders. They said Drita took a pretty bad beating from Ebony but her face looks fine. Maybe she had put on a lot of make up. Drita waves flirtatiously at me, and I give her a subtle head nod. "Ohh! Macarevhic done caught him a young tenderoni!" Pocco exclaims, attracting attention to us. I shake my head in embarrassment.

If this dude say tenderoni one more time. "Man I ain't even checking for that girl homie." I tell him. "Then why you say hey to her back. Admit it you like her." Pocco teases. "Man that girl is not my type." I tell him. "Well loving a girl that doesn't love you is not a good type either."

I look into the stand again for Ebony our eyes meet. I wave at her slightly embarrassed that she caught me looking at her. I get from my seat and walk to where's she's seating at. "Hey Ebony," I greet a quiet voice. My voice was so low I thought she couldn't hear me over the noisy people in the gym. "Hey Macarevhic, sit down." she says scooting over. I sit down by her.

"So are you enjoying the game so far?" I ask her. "Yep, I'm glad we're winning." she says with that heavenly smile. "You're here supporting Arod?" I didn't mean to ask the question it just came out. She looks at me surprised. "Umm, no I'm just here. I'm leaving right after the game." she tells me. I don't know how well that plan is going to work. I'm sure Arod knows she's here and will do everything in his power to get to her.
