I get dressed in some jeans, my white Jordans and a blue shirt. I'm excited to go see my boo; I swear I don't think I haven't stop smiling since last night. It's like I'm a brand new person. Ivory comes into our room and she has a frown on her face. "What's up Ivory?" I ask tying my shoes.
"Nothing just thinking about something." She says all sad. Ivory is not usually said. Angry maybe but not sad. "So, you know mama and daddy haven't been around the apartment building a while right?" I say. "So, I don't care if they don't ever come back."
Ivory voice changes from sadness to anger. She still resents them. "You know she never said sorry. She tried to sell me for some crack. What kind of mother does that? They can go to h*** for all I care!" Ivory yells. She breaks down and starts to cry.
"Why can't we have normal parents that love us?" I hug Ivory and I contemplate about hanging with her today. She has stayed home with me when I needed her too. "Hey, Ivory how about we go to the movies today?" I suggest.
Ivory may seem older but when I look into her brown eyes I see my scared and hurt little sister. Her face lights up a little. "I thought you had to go see Macarevhic." She says wiping her tears away. "I'll see Macarevhic later. We don't hang like we used to. Come one let's go." Ivory and I pull up in front of the movie theater.
Ruth was happy that we were going somewhere together so she gave us the car. "What do you want to see?" I ask Ivory. "Maybe a romantic comedy." she suggests. "A romantic comedy, since when do you like romantic comedies?"
"I've always like them; they always have happy funny endings." I'm more of an action movie type of girl, but if a romantic comedy is what make Ivory happy then a romantic comedy is what we will see. Ivory has been through just as much crap as I have only she doesn't really talk about it.
Maybe if I start expressing myself a little more then maybe she will too. We buy our tickets and we watch a movie about some woman that lost her memory in a car accident and her husband is trying to help her gain her memory back. It was a pretty good movie. "I'm hungry." Ivory announces. "Well we could go to Mike's up the street." I tell her.
"Okay cool. Thanks for spending time with me. It means a lot to me Ebony." Ivory tells me. I smile at her and drive to Mike's I'm glad I get to spend time with her too. While we're in Mike's we order burgers and fries, and Ivory and I talk about everything under the sun. I even learned a few things about her. She doesn't like the color white. She doesn't like movies with sad endings, and she wants to be in the entertainment business when she gets older. She says a fashion designer or an actress. She has big dreams and I support them. I'm glad that she dreams big.
The next day I go to Macarevhic's house. I've really been wanting to see my baby. I knock on the door, and Macarevhic opens it. I hug him. "Hey I missed you." I say as I kiss him. "I've been missing you too angel, what happened yesterday?"
"I had to hang out with Ivory, she was having a bad day." "Oh, that's good. I'm glad you two are close." He smiles at me. I was excepting an Arod answer. The one where he would whine about me spending time with somebody else. I have to remember to not compare Macarevhic to Arod. They are two different people.
"So, what is the big news you had to tell me yesterday?" I ask him. "Well my uncle says I'm gathering attention from the you tube video, and he thinks I could become a singing sensation." he laughs. "That's pretty crazy idea right?" "Macarevhic no it's not. You have an amazing voice, and I think you could be somebody big." I tell him sincerely. "Seriously?" he ask rising one of his thick eyebrows. "Yes." I tell him. "I love you angel." he tells me.
