Crap now I really can't tell him now. He's about to go on tour I'm sure he will meet somebody better than me. "How long will you be gone?" I ask him. "Only for about a month or two." "Oh." I say dropping my head. Two months! That's a long time to be away.
"I leave in three weeks. It's going to be fun and I'm going to be living my dream. The label told me my single moved to number 5 on the r&b charts. I'll call you every day, and we'll skype." I can see he's happy, but would he be even happier without me. I gave Arod my everything and that makes me mad. It's Macarevhic that deserve everything, and I have nothing left to give him.
"Congratulations, Macarevhic you really deserve it." "Thanks angel, and just think I'll make millions of dollars, and then we could go anywhere in the world you want to go. I could treat you the way you deserve." I discretely wipe a tear from my eye.
No, it's me that needs to treat you the way you deserve to be treated. "Yeah that sounds really nice. Te quiero Macarevhic." "I see my Angel's Spanish is getting better." I can hear him smile. "Well I have a good teacher." The first night in the new house is cool. This is a house we only ever dreamed of.
It's bigger than Sherese's. I love the movie theater. I don't want to get attached to it, but I am anyway. If my parents get back on drugs it's a strong possibility I could lose this house. I haven't seen Ivory since we've been here. Maybe she's hiding in her room. I knock on her door, and it's decorated the way Ivory has been dreaming about. She's sitting on her bed playing around on her laptop.
"Hey, what have you been up to?" I ask her. "Nothing much. This is so weird. We done went from living in a raggedy apartment building to living in this freaking mansion." "It's not a mansion I correct her. "Whatever, it might as well be. Where did they get this kind of money?" I shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know, but I want to know." "Yeah, Ebony I don't trust them yet." "I know Ivory but at least you're trying to." "I just don't want them to neglect us again." "Macarevhic is going on tour in a few weeks. He also said he got an interview to do."
"What, that's great girl. Who knew you would end up dating a soon to be superstar." "I think I'm gonna breakup with him." I blurt out. Ivory mouth drops open. "Girl is you out your mind? You know you don't want to break up with boy and for what? Macarevhic is good for you. He's sexy, talented, respectable, and girl he loves you like crazy." "Ivory lectures rolling her neck the whole time.
"I know all of that Ivory, but I need to work on me. I can't love him the way he deserves and that's not fair to him. I'm gonna do it before he goes on tour. That way he'll meet somebody that can love him better than I can."
"That is so stupid! You are giving up a good man because you to scared to change?" "No Ivory that is not it, I'm not better. I'm not good for him right now." Ivory gives good advice but I don't think nobody can understand this but me. It's something I don't want to do, but I got to do it. Macarevhic deserves so much better. In the middle of the night, my cell phone rings. It wakes me out of my good sleep. "Ugh!" I say to myself angrily. Whoever this is better have a good reason, or I am cussing them out. "Hello," I say harshly.
"Ebony, have you heard Arod just got shot." My eyes pop open. There's part of me that feel alarmed and the other part of me is like whatever. "Sherese, when did this happen?" I ask her. She takes a deep breathe. "Apparently an hour ago. He was at the club and somebody shot him. They carried him off in the ambulance. I think he's at Bay Green's Memorial."
"Well Sherese it's not my problem. I hope he pulls through, because I don't wish death on nobody, but I'm going back to sleep. Good night." "Okay Ebony good night." I hang up the phone. What if he's dead? If he's still alive I'll go by in the morning.
