Macarevhic takes me to this poetry club called "My Black Freedom." I've never heard of it or seen it around the neighborhood before. I like it its nice warm and cozy. The African artifacts that decorate the yellow walls are beautiful. I sit back in the plush chair and sip on my coffee, which is good by the way. "So what do you then?" Macarevhic asks me. I shouldn't be here with you, is what I'm thinking. Why am I here with him, this is crazy. I have a boyfriend, who's been treating me good for the past few weeks.. At the same time I'm glad I'm here with Macarevhic.

He makes me feel comfortable. I hate that Arod doesn't make me feel that way. "It's nice and relaxing. Like it." I nervously pay with my hands, hoping I don't nothing stupid.

"Yeah it's my home away from home. I came here when I need to think for awhile." I take a bite of my cinnamon roll, oh my God This is heaven. Macarevhic notice my face expression and laugh.

"Good right? I had the same face when I had my fist cinnamon bun." "Yeah, this is the bomb!" I exclaim, taking another bite of the gooey sweet cinnamon bun. "Well I'm glad you like it. I'll buy you another one." he offers.

"You don't have to." "No its okay, I want to." He stares at me for a minute. "What?" I ask him. "You have stuff all over your face. Here I'll get it." He takes a napkin and gently wipe my face. My heart is about to jump out of my chest, and I know I'm blushing like crazy.

"Thank you." I mumble. We look at each other, and I swear I have this urge to kiss him. I wish I wasn't with Arod, and I was in a better place. "Macarevhic!" yell some girl, with an annoying voice. I swear it would make a hearing person wanna go deaf. A short black girl, with short black hair, wearing too tight clothes, stands in front of Macarevhic. I think the girls' name is Jada, I've seen her around school a couple of times.

She was what everybody called an undercover H! I feel jealousy starts to form in my heart. I don't like her talking to Macarevhic. I don't want her to steal his attention away from me. I know it's crazy, cause I'm with Arod, but I don't want her around Macarevhic!

"I'm so sorry for my behavior from last time, but I really want to make it up to you." Jada says with a seductive smile. I know this tramp ain't flirting with my man, uhh I mean Macarevhic! Uhoh did I just call this dude my man?

"Jada, It's alright, but I'm with Ebony right now, so if you excuse us." She snaps her neck to look at me and I swear is see fire in her eyes, but that don't intimidate me. I give her a smug smirk. She puts on a fake smile.

"Ebony, hi. I though you was with Arod?" she says through tight clenched teeth. "I am, Macarevhic and I are just friends." I tell her. I notices Macarevhic face drops when I say this. "Well, maybe Macarevhic needs to hang with some one who can give him the attention he deserves." I can't control my jealousy anymore.

"He already has it." I say angrily. It's like I'm a wolf protecting my territory. "Jada I think you should just leave." Macarevhic tells her in a forced voice. Jada walks off. "What was that about?" I ask Macarevhic, my arms folded across my chest. I swear I have no idea why I'm jealous, I'm just am! He chuckles to himself quietly.

"Jada is just a girl that likes me, but I won't pay her no attention. Do you know how cute you are when you're pouting?" I roll my eyes. "Whatever." I mumble to myself. "Aww, don't be mad at me. I honestly don't even fool with her." Macarevhic tells me. He gives my hand a squeeze. Why am I jealous, he's not mine and he doesn't belong to me in anyway, shape, or form. "Sorry, it doesn't matter; you can talk to whoever you want to talk to." I say. Soon after Macarevhic drives me home.

I like his car, it's old looking but it's comfortable and clean on the inside. I like it. I'm used to Arod's luxury cars, and the expensive sound system. A Latin song comes on, and even though I don't even know a worked the woman I singing about, I bob my head to it. I'm used to Arod's rap music. I need to stop comparing these two. They're both extremely different. Macarevhic seems too good to be true.

Or maybe I'm trying to see evil in him, like I see in Arod. Macarevhic sings softly along to the song, and his signing sounds like a lullaby. "What's she's singing about?" I ask him. He stops singing and he start to blush.

"Uhh, she's saying that you are the most beautiful girl In the world." I lightly hit him on his arm. "Seriously what is she saying." I press. "It's a old love song, and she's singing about being in love with someone that doesn't loves her." He looks at me intensely for a moment.

"Oh." Macarevhic pulls over to the sidewalk. "Why are we stopping?" I ask unbuckling my seatbelt. Macarevhic gets out of the car, and open my door. "Come on out." he says. I'm reluctant but I also trust Macarevhic. I get out of the car. "What are we doing?" I ask. "We are gonna dance under the stars." he answer me.

I'm like boy please, what I look like trying to dance under the stars. "Macarevhic." I begin to protest. "No buts." We start to sway slowly to the music. Macarevhic sings along in my ear. This dude got the voice of an angel. I think I'm starting to fall for this dude, and I feel scared. This is too much and too good to seem true.

"This is surprisingly nice." I tell him. "Yeah it is." My heart is about to beat out my chest, I wonder if he can feel it. We look at each other, and I feel like I need to kiss him. Arod image springs to my mind, and I realize that anyone can tell him about us. "I have to get home." I tell Macarevhic. Macarevhic immediately drops his hands from my waist, and walk away from me. We both get into the car, and he takes me home.

He is pretty quiet on the way back. I check my phone and I have three missed calls from Arod. My phone was on silent. I immediately get nervous and mentally start to curse myself out. How could I miss his calls threes times in a row? I bury my head in my hands.

"Everything alright Ebony?" ask Macarevhic noticing my sudden distraught. "Everything is fine." I lie. Macarevhic stops in front of the raggedy apartment building. I can see Arod's luxury Mercedes Benz parked in front of it. I know what this means. I'm about to get a beating.

"You know Ebony you don't have to go in there." Macarevhic says a little angry. "What are you talking about?" I ask him getting defensive. "I'm just saying you don't have to go in there, and confront him." "I'll see you later Macarevhic thanks for tonight."

He waits till I get inside of the building and drive off. I stand in front of my door, too scared to go in there. I know what's gonna happen. Somebody had to call him and tell him where I was tonight. It could have been the baldheaded pig faced tramp, Jada.

Or it could be one of his homies could have told him. In all honesty I had a really nice time with Macarevhic, and I just can't shake my growing feeling for him. I wipe a stray tear that slowly moves down to my cheek. I open the door, and a strong hand goes across my face. The move was so powerful and swift it knocks me down to the floor. I cradle my face and I look up to see Arod, closing the door and locking it.

"What in the h*** is this I hear about you hanging out with some of other dude?! Ebony if you think you gonna leave me you must be outta of ya mind. You ain't never leaving me." I'm crying but he stares down at me with those blood shot eyes. The old Arod is back. "I'm sorry." I say softly. The right side of my face is on fire.

It's like a billion fire ants stinging me. "You think you sorry now just wait till I get down with you. You thing that little slap in the face was all that was gonna make me feel better? Ha! You got another thang coming." Arod grabs both of my hands and drag me to my bedroom.

I scream as loud as possible. I'm screaming and kick out my legs, trying to escape form him, because I don't know the extent severity of this beating I'm about t endure. "Arod no please!" I beg. "Shut up! You wasn't thinking about me when you were with that other dude tonight!" Arod slams my bedroom door closed.
