"Well, that was a good service," Mama says as we walk into the house. She takes off her black heels, and walk to her room. "Yes, that Reverend Washington sure can preach!" Abuela adds. Ebony stands next to me, and I can still sense that the message has her a little tense.

Ivory seems a little shaken about it too. "Abulea," calls Ivory. "Yes, dear." "Umm, if you forgive somebody, does that mean that they will change?" she asks. "Not all the time dear. Some people change and some people don't. You see you're not forgiving somebody because you want them to change you are forgiving them for yourself." Ivory shakes her head to agree with abuela.

"Well, Maria lets get this food going." Ruth says. Abulea and Ruth walk over to the sink. Ivory takes a seat at the kitchen table. "Ebony can I speak to you for a moment?" I ask grabbing her hand. "Yeah sure." We walk to my room and I close the door.

I take her hands into mine, and I look deep into her eyes. They are saying "Please somebody help me, please somebody save me." Maybe if I love her and pray hard enough, maybe I can save her. "What's been going on with you?" I ask her. "What do you mean?" "I mean one minute you love me and the next you're just different." I tell her.

"I'm a girl Macarevhic sometimes we act like that." She treis to joke. I let out a sigh. "Ebony I love you but you gotta let me help you." "I don't need any help, I'm fine. I've been doing this by myself for a long time now. " She pulls her hair into a ponytail and sit down on my bed. "Ebony, lets just have a good day today okay."
