We're in the last quarter and I came because Sherese practically dragged me here. I really didn't want to show up, but I need to get out. I haven't seen or talked to Arod in three weeks, and I don't plan to see or talk to him anytime soon. I hear him though, pounding on our apartment door, threaten to kick the door down, so Ivory and I are staying with Ruth for the time being.

Ivory and I have had to sneak down to the down to the apartment to pack more clothes and other valuable stuff. I don't mind staying with Ruth. It's nice to have somebody there and having somebody to cook for you. She talks to me. When I'm at Ruth's it feels like home, and I haven't felt that way in a long time.

We're in the final three seconds and Arod makes the winning shot! Everybody in the audience go crazy. Sherese hits me lightly on the arm to tell me it's time to go. "I have to go Macarevhic see you around." I tell him. I hate saying good bye to him. When my life gets straighten out, maybe one day we can be together. I don't want to be with him if I end up hurting him. I look for Arod to make sure I don't see him. Malachi and Sherese both hurriedly maneuver me out of the thick crowd. "Ebony." A voice calls my name. A cold chill gets sent up my spine. I stop and I turn slowly to see Arod behind me.

My mood is immediately turns into a spine chilling fear. "Ebony I need to talk to you, please." his eyes are sad but I know better than that. Arod is a con man. These three weeks without has been surprisingly peaceful and relaxing without him. It's like I can breathe.

"No Arod that won't be possible, but good game." I turn to walk away, but he grabs my arm. I try to snatch my arm away, but his grips tightens. I look into his eyes and they've gone from sadness to desperation. "Please, please Ebony I need you." He begs.

Is this sucker about to cry in front of all this people. What a punk. " "Arod let go of me." I demand. Arod grips tighten some more. I let out a weak shriek from the growing pain. "Malachi," I call. Malachi appears beside me, and give Arod a deathly glare. Arod drop his grip form my arm. "Arod I think you should leave Ebony alone.

I still got people from the streets that owe me favors. You know what I mean cuz?" Malachi threatens Arod on the sly. "Ebony please let me explain and try to make things better. I need to know why you're doing me like this. I can't live with out you Ebony, please." I start to feel sorry for him. Maybe he needs to know why I have not been talking to him.

But another part of me is saying I've seen this act all to well. Maybe he's changed. I look at Sherese and her brown eyes are pleading for me to not be stupid and believe him. I look up at Arod and he's on the verge of tears.

"I'll call you guys later." Sherese faces drops, and her eyes are angry. Malachi seems to understand and backs off. "Thanks Ebony." Arod pulls me into a hug, and he's sweaty from playing the game. Whatever happens is meant to happen.

After Arod change into his regular clothes, he opens the door to his Altima. "I've really been missing you ma. I can tell you've been missing me, cause you still wearing my necklace." He's all smiles.

If this sucker man think everything is all good in the hood then he's abusive and stupid. "Ebony why did you leave me like that for three weeks?" Arod asks pulling off from the school parking lot. "I was scared to face you after the fight." I admit shyly. Arod sighs.

"Ebony I didn't want to do anything that day but talk." Yeah right talk like I actually believe that. "I want us to get better Eb, I can't live with out you." Being with Arod gives me a headache. I can't understand him, he's confusing. I like being without him. No I love being with out him. It's time for us to end. "Arod I can't keep seeing you. I like being by myself right now." I tell him nervously.
