I stare at the eviction notice paper. I know that Arod has stopped paying on the apartment. I dig into my safe and count the money, fifteen hundred dollars. It's enough to pay the eviction notice but what about these bills. Ivory and I stay at Ruth's anyway.
The only thing making me want to keep this apartment is mama and daddy. But what have they done for us anyway, besides leave us to get high off of crack? I can't waste this money on this raggedy apartment. Ivory and I are just gonna have to pack the rest of our stuff up and leave this apartment behind.
It's Valentine 's Day, and I hate it. Couples in the hallways are sick. They holding hands and kissing. It's just nasty! Ok, I'm being a hater. Whatever. I'm more in a bad mood because I'm feeling guilty about the whole apartment eviction thing.
It's a done deal and I wonder where my parents are now. When they come to the apartment that's my only time I get to see them, no matter how messed up they are, I still see them every now and then. Now that apartment is gone, what if I never see them again?
