It Feels Right

Even though we were three hours behind the normal time for us, we couldn't have felt any better. Cali was bright, and so beautiful. The sun was shining bright, the sky was clear, the warm breeze felt like heaven against my skin. I can see a tan in my future. 

All of us boarded off the plane, and headed to get our luggage. What a surprise! Grayson, Ethan, Hayes, Cam, and Nash were all there waiting for everyone. Kyle made sure that Kylie and I were surrounded by the guys, that way we didn't have to worry about being bombarded by everyone else, mostly Kens and Addy. Kyle was very protective over me, and I couldn't quite figure out why. He was never protective over Kens like he is for me. I'm not complaining, I just feel bad, but then again, not really since Kens is being really rude to put in nice terms. 

Eventually, all of us got our luggage. There were around six cars waiting outside the airport for all of us except Hayes invited Kylie to ride with him and the other boys, which means I would have to go. Cam and Nash were cool people, so I wouldn't mind, but it's a little out of my comfort zone. On the flip side, watching Hayes hug Kylie tight was very comforting. She needs a man like himself in her life that she can not only be proud of, but be able to happy all of the time. They may not be officially a thing yet, but an older sister can dream right? 

Nash walked over to me, "Hey Kolby, would you like to ride with us? We're heading out. Kylie got permission from your dad too."

"I think I'm okay. I'm pretty tired and would like to catch up on some sleep. Thank you for the offer though. Take care of Kylie for me." I kindly declined with a smile.

"Alright, yeah will do. See you later." He hugged me goodbye.

I got into the car with my dad, so I didn't have to be by Kens and Addy. For once I wanted to not be near her. "Dad, am I sharing a hotel room with Kens and Addy?"

"Nope. You are getting your own room. I figured you would like a room to yourself to catch your breath and focus on your vacation, instead of dealing with your sister and her inconsiderate friend. Ya know, I don't even care for Addy. She's just so mean to everyone except Kensleigh. I don't understand."

"Yeah I get that, trust me." I said looking out the window. 

"What even happened between you two anyway?"

"Oh that. Well okay, it started when I was trying to leave the funeral. She got into my truck telling me to stay from Ethan because "he is her man" and she was going to make sure she was going to get him. I told her that Ethan and I were just friends anyway and I wasn't going to just shut him out because of her. That didn't settle well with her, she kept going on, I freaked out on her to get out of my truck and she left. Then when you asked for me because she wanted me, that's when she threatened me, and she has a picture of me, when I tried to take my life the first time. She said that she will put it on every social media of hers to basically ruin my life-"

"Blackmail is the way she wants to handle this?" he looked at me with disgust. 

"Yeah. Anyway, so I get back into the house, just minded my own business, played piano for a while, then once I got tired, I headed up to my room until Ethan stopped me so I could talk to him, Grayson and Kens. Kens told me what Addy said to her, and asked me what happened. Addy's story made it seem like I was threatening her, making her the victim. I explained what happened, Kens took her side, Grayson stuck with Kens, and I don't even know about Ethan. I honestly just don't even care. I was fed up with everything. Papaw died, Addy trying to blackmail me, and my twin basically not even caring about me. That's why I tried taking my life again. There's just so much I can handle in one day. My breaking point was just inches away from the get go. I'm sorry you had to go through that again. I didn't know what to do anymore."

"So you're telling me that your sister did not believe you at all? She took Addy's side? What the hell? I did not raise her like that, at all. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. You don't need this at all. Please don't apologize. I should've said that Addy wasn't able to come over."

"It's fine. Sisters aren't always going to get along and this time it's just a little worse than before."

"Well, you are definitely getting your own room now."

"Alright. Although, I don't mind sharing one with Kylie."

"We can do that." he smiled.

"Thanks, dad" I rested my head on his shoulder, looking back at the window.
