Josh's POV

"That's the last box," I said as I set the box on the ground. I looked at the pile and smiled.

"Finally," Tyler sighed. I laughed and slid my arms around his waist.

"I did most of the heavy lifting!" I saw Tyler roll his eyes and walk away from my grasp. I grabbed him by his arm, spinning him around to face me. I pulled him back into a hug. He buried his face in my shoulder and laughed. His breath tickled my neck.

"I'm so happy we did this." His voice came out muffled.

"Me too," I agreed before kissing his head. He pulled away and kissed my lips. "But now I'm hungry. Do you want to go out or order delivery?"

"Let's go out." I nodded and grabbed my car keys.

"What is there to eat near by?" Tyler asked, walking out the front door and locking it behind us.

"I don't know. Let's just drive around."

----

When we got back to our apartment, I collapsed onto the coach. Tyler laid down with his head in my lap. He picked up the remote and turned on our tv. I began mindlessly playing with his hair as he clicked through the channels.

I looked around our apartment. I took in the finality of it all. We were finally free. Free from the bullies. Free from the judgement. Free from the ideals of our peers.

"Tyler?"

"Yea?"

"We should probably unpack some things. At least the stuff we'll need for tonight."

"Do we have to?" he whined. I laughed and bent over to kiss his cheek. He sat up and I stood from the couch. I walked over to the boxes to sort through them. Soon, he was crouched down next to me. I found a box full of toiletries and passed it to him.

"Can you put this stuff in the bathroom?" He nodded and carried it away. I found the boxes that had our clothes in them and brought them to our room. I picked them out carefully and folded them into organized piles. I heard Tyler humming as he walked down the hall. The humming turned to singing as he walked past the bedroom. I recognized the song and smiled.  He wrote it in January and he'd been singing it a lot recently.

We all are stranger creatures than when we all started out as kids,
Culture forbids,
We have romantic fantasies about what dying truly is,
Fall off the grid

I smiled as his voice carried through the mostly barren apartment. We hadn't been able to get everything together yet, but his singing made me feel at home.

We live for the night's decor
It reveals what we dream of

Tyler's voice grew louder and I turned to see him walk in the room with a handful of sheets and blankets.

I know there's someone at the door,
They called for help, of this I'm sure,
But do I want to say goodbye to all the glowing eyes?
I'm holding onto what I know,
And what I know, I must let go,
But I would rather play a song for the eyes to sing along

I placed the clothes into their respective drawers. Once everything was where it belonged, I turned to help Tyler make the bed. I'd learned the song pretty well by then and joined in with the next part.

La-dee-da-da
La-dee-da-dee-da
La-dee-da-da
La-dee-da-da

La-dee-da-da
La-dee-da-dee-da
La-dee-da-da
La-dee-da-da

I laughed at the little dance Tyler had begun doing.

"Shut up!" he said, tossing a pillow at me. It hit me in the face and fell onto the bed. My mouth hung open and I gave him a look of fake offense.

"Oh, that's it!" I said, trying not to laugh. I grabbed the pillow and ran over to him, swinging it around. He turned quickly and ran out of the room, giggling wildly the whole time. He jumped onto the couch and I hit him in the side. He collapsed down in a laughing fit.

"I give! I give!" I dropped the pillow and smiled down at him. We were both breathing heavily.

"Do you want a drink?" I asked, walking to the kitchen.

"Yea! Can I have Re-"

"Red Bull, I know," I finished, cutting him off. I pulled out two and handed him his. His face lit up as he sipped the drink. He let out a refreshed "ah."
