***Trigger Warning***
★Josh's POV★"Josh! Josh!"
I turned to look at Ryan. His brown hair was a mess on the top of his head. He ran as fast as he could to me. I stood up and met him halfway. He stopped and caught his breath.
"What it is, Ry?"
"'My mom bought ice cream and said you could come over and have some!" His eyes twinkled as he spoke.
"Really?" He nodded eagerly. "I gotta ask my momma if I can."
I ran in to ask my mom. She, of course, said yes. Ryan and I walked back to his house, giggling the whole way. His mom smiled sweetly at us when we walked in and got us each a bowl.
"Thank you, Miss Ross."
"Anytime, Joshua." We ate hurriedly and Ryan was soon complaining of a brain freeze. His mom sighed. "George Ryan, how many times do I have to tell you to not eat so fast?"
"Sorry," he said.

"What the hell happened to you? Why'd you leave school early? I wasn't at the assembly, but it sounds like something happened."Ryan couldn't look at me. He just sat there, staring at his hands. There was red on his finger nails and I assumed it was blood.
"Did you hurt yourself again?" I asked. He looked up quickly and shook his head. More confusion hit me. I could finally see the tears he'd been fighting to hide. "What happened?"
"Th-those football assholes," was all he had to say. He burst into tears and I sat next to him on the couch, pulling him into a hug. "Why, Josh?"
"'Why' what, Ryan?"
"Why me?"
I didn't have an answer for him.

"I, um, wrote you that song because the only way th-that I can really express how I, uh, feel is through music. I'm not sure if everything came out exactly how, um, how I wanted, but I hope you could understand it. I know that you really listen to my words." Tyler coughed lightly and wiped at his eye."Tyler," I started. He cut me off by placing a hand on my arm.
"I really like you, Josh."
My lips curled into a smile at his confession of his feelings. Feelings that I also felt.
"I really like you, too," I said.
We kissed and it was magic.
●●●I blinked my eyes opened and lifted my head slowly. I didn't know where I was or what was happening. I could hear a distant siren.
"Sir? Thank god you're alive!"
Thank God I'm alive?
I tried to sit upright and winced in pain. My teeth clenched and I took in my surroundings. I realized that I was in my car.
"The ambulance is on its way. I'm so sorry," the man said. He was trying to speak through tears but I couldn't focus on what he said. I looked next to me and gasped.
Tyler
He was unconscious with his head facing away from me, against the window. I unbuckled my seat belt quickly and leaned over. I turned him to face me. He had cuts on his face and his lip was busted. He was covered in blood.
"T-Tyler?" I coughed and tried to shake him awake. "Oh god, Tyler. Please wake up. Please be okay." The sirens were growing louder.
"Is your friend okay?" the man asked. I grabbed Tyler's hand and pressed it against my lips.
"Please, please, please." I was crying against his hand. The sirens had grown deafening and lights were flashing brightly. I heard more voices and doors slamming.
"Sir, are you able to get out of your vehicle?" one of the paramedics asked. I looked at him through the broken car window.
"I-I am not leav-ing him!" I stuttered. I squeezed Tyler's limp hand tighter.
"Sir, we need you to get out so we can help both of you. Okay?" I looked back at Tyler before nodding and letting the man help me out of the car. He walked me to the ambulance and sat me down. They laid a shock blanket around my shoulders. "My name is Joe. Can you tell me your name?"
"I'm Josh." I looked past the man and at the car. My first car was totaled and the man I love was unconscious inside of it. "Josh Dun." He wrote something down and then clicked on a flashlight. He began checking me for my reflexes and vitals.
"Do you know what happened?"
"Not really." I saw a commotion by the car and strained to see.
"We need a gurney!" a woman called. A guy near me prepped a gurney and ran it to the car. I tried to stand up but Joe held me back.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know," he said. "But it's going to be okay. I need you to sit down and stay calm."
"How am I supposed to stay calm while my boyfriend it being taken out on a gurney?" Joe sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"You just have to be hopeful." I watched two paramedics bring the gurney to the ambulance while one spoke to Tyler.
"Can you tell me your name?"
"Tyler Joseph," he said, coughing. I smiled when I heard his voice.
"He seems conscious and coherent. You can go to him now," Joe told me. I thanked him and slouched the blanket off of me.
"Where's Josh?" I heard Tyler ask. I ran over and grabbed his hand. "Josh! Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"I'm okay, Tyler." He smiled and coughed again. I looked to the paramedic that had been talking to him as they lifted the gurney into the ambulance. "What's wrong with him?"
"He has a concussion and he may have a broken leg. We'll have to take an X-ray at the hospital. You're welcome to ride in the ambulance with him."
"Thank you," I said before she walked away. I climbed up and sat down next to the gurney. I squeezed Tyler's hand and smiled when he squeezed mine back.
