Alex's POV

After my workout I felt so much better, all the stress I had on me the past few day seemed to dissolve. I grabbed a quick shower and made my way to the hospital to see Annie, the hospital was in walking distance so I didn't bother with taking my car.

When I got to the double doors of Ridgedale I glanced down at my watch, it was a few minutes past nine. I walked into the lobby and waited for the elevator, when it stopped at the floor Annie was on I got off.

I noticed Jo Ann was back tonight, " how's she been?" I asked pausing long enough for her to answer.

" She's been asleep most of the evening, But I just checked her vitals so she should be awake.

" K thanks Jo Ann, I'm gonna go see how she's feeling" She nodded her head and I made my way down the hall to the room Annie was in.

I knocked gently before entering, the door opened wide and I was surprised to see Annie's small frame standing in the doorway. " You should be in bed young lady." I said grinning, she gave me a small smile and then winced when she took a step back to let me in.

" Sorry I just got through showering." She said a bright blush creeping into her cheeks.

" Where's your parents, or brother for that matter?" I asked, I was a little aggravated at the thought of them leaving her here alone.

She got back in her bed slowly, I helped the best I could without hurting her. " My parents just stepped out awhile ago to get dinner, my brother went with them, and Becca had finals today." She sighed once she got settled into her bed.

" Oh... so how are you feeling?" I asked taking a seat beside the bed, she ran her hand through her long hair before replying.

" I feel alot better since I've showered, thank you for asking." She gave me a warm smile, as her gorgeous eyes met mine. I could feel my throat going dry I wanted to know so much about her, but honestly had no clue how to ask.

All my past relationships had basically been physical, so I didn't take the time to get to know them. Not that there was anything going on between us, but for some reason I just felt this strange connection to Annie.

" Was there something else you needed to know?" Her soft voice ask while her eyes searched my face, yes I want to know everything about you my mind screamed, of course I didn't let her know that. I could feel my heart thudding in my chest, jeez what was it about this woman that caused my body to go crazy like this?

I had never felt anything like this before and to be honest it was scaring me a little, my eyes focused on her soft subtle lips, I could see myself closing the short distance. Then I blinked and looked away, I stood up and ran my hand through my shaggy hair.
