Annie's POV
" Your not going anywhere." I heard Maggie's unsteady voice say loudly, and then the gun went off. I closed my eyes and screamed. I just knew Alex was dead.
" Jesus, Maggie, what was that for?'' I heard Randy shout. I opened my stunned eyes to see, Alex firmly rooted in the same spot, and Randy holding his now bleeding shoulder.
" I told you not to untie them, no matter what line of bull they fed you! And much to my great surprise, that's exactly what I find when walking through the door!" She was screaming in his face, causing him to wince and shrink away like a coward.
I thanked God silently for keeping Alex safe, I felt bad that it had to be Randy. " You," Maggie said, waving the gun at Alex. " You get back over here and get tied back up okay." She asked in a sickly sweet voice. Alex looked at me, then back to the gun she practically had shoved in his face.
" No." He replied simply. She gaped at him for a minute, then composed herself quickly. Randy looked as though he were about to pass out. There was blood seeping through his fingers, and dripping onto the cement floors. Maggie, however completely ignored him.
" I don't think your getting the picture here Alex, I'm the one holding a gun to your chest. Now move." She shoved him hard in the chest with the small barrel, Alex didn't even budge.
" I can't, Annie is dying. She needs my medical help." He said softly. She gave a slightly rude, hyena laugh.
" I was hoping I'd hit her hard enough to make her bleed out already, guess all those medical books I've been studying lied." Her voice sounded of pure hatred when she spoke, and she was now giving me a murderous look.
" Look, you don't want to add a murder charge to all the other things you already have against you, let me help her. Then you can do whatever you want with me." He said bravely looking her in the eyes. She let out another cruel laugh.
" Do you honestly think I care if she dies?" She kicked Randy hard, causing him to fall to the ground and roll around in agony. " Do you think I care if he dies?" She shouted, all the while waving the gun around like the crazy person she was.
She kicked Randy again, causing him to cry out in pain. " Get off your lazy butt, and help me tie him back up!" She yelled.
Randy was getting paler by the minute, " I can't you idiot! You shot me, I think I'm dying!" He half yelled, half groaned.
" Maggie, your not this person." Alex said in his soothing deep voice. She turned her attention back to him, smiling bitterly and shaking her head. When she spoke her voice held nothing but coldness.
" Sadly, Alex, I am. I am a woman scorned! By the one man I ever really loved, you betrayed me and now you want me to feel sorry for her?" She asked pointing the gun in my direction. I could see Alex's jaw tense, and knew he was getting very angry.
" Maggie, just let me help her," He said glancing in my direction. " And Randy," He added grudgingly. "And I promise it will just be the two of us. You can let the others go, and I'll go anywhere with you, and do anything you want." He was pleading with her now.
I knew not to take offense to what he was saying, he was only doing it because he thought I was going to die. I also knew it had taken a lot for him to say he would help Randy, for it wasn't twenty minutes ago in this same room, that he told him he would kill him.
Of course I knew Alex could never do anything like that, unless there was a threat to mine, or his life. Yet here I was trying my best to keep up with them going back and forth, my head started swimming. I closed my eyes, praying I could hold on until I could get some help.
