Flamestrike walked up to Cinderfeather, who was lying near the pond, and laid next to her. "Hey." He purred. "Hey." Cinderfeather responded. Silence enveloped the two, before Flamestrike broke it. "Cinder?" He asked. "Yea?" Cinderfeather responds. Flamestrike took a deep breath. Here we go... "I.... I l-lo-lo-er..." Flamestrike says, unable to properly say it. Cinderfeather purred at his attempt. "I... I love you too." Cinderfeather purred. Flamestrike quickly nuzzled Cinderfeather. "Well, at least you got the idea." Flamestrike purred, making Cinderfeather laugh. "So... I guess we're mates now." "Well... we still need to.... for that title... um... y-ya know...." Flamestrike looks away, blushing. Cinderfeather blinked. "We'll get to that eventually." She purred.

Pondpaw walked over to the pair. "Get to it now! Make kits already!" She said. Flamestrike turned to face her. "S-SHUT UP, PONDP-PAW!!!" He says, blushing madly. Suddenly, Cinderfeather tackled Flamestrike. "C-Cinder, not i-in f-front o-of-" Flamestrike stammered before Cinderfeather got off him quickly, herself now blushing madly. "R-Really, F-Flamestrike?" Cinderfeather said. "Well.... um... this is a-awkward. Sh-should we go on a walk, or...?" Flamestrike said, blushing madly. "N-not l-li-" "I know what you mean, Flame. We should, after that... um..." Cinderfeather said, blushing madly.

They exited camp and headed to the river. "S-Sorry, I d-didn't ex-expect you to r-react like t-that..." Cinderfeather trailed off.  I-It's fine, i-it was j-just bad ti-timing. You tackled me ri-right when I was t-thinking a-about..." Flamestrike looked away, still blushing madly. "Yea... I kinda k-know t-that n-now." Cinderfeather said before getting an evil smirk. "'Not in front of camp', huh? What if I tackled you out here?" "C-Cinder..." Flamestrike said, looking away and blushing madly. "Well... now that we're alone... let's get that-nevermind, there's a dog." Cinderfeather suddenly said, getting up and unsheathing her claws.

Flamestrike followed Cinderfeather's movements. Suddenly, the dog attacked, and being a Great Dane, it was HUGE. It attacked Cinderfeather, and severely injured her. "Cinder!" Flamestrike ran and attacked the dog. "LET HER GO!!!" Appletail screamed, suddenly jumping out from a nearby bush. "DID YOU FOLLOW US!? ACTUALLY, NO, QUESTIONS LATER!" Flamestrike said. Then, a ThunderClan she-cat ran across the border and joined in the fight against the dog. "You two, hold the dog off! I'm getting Cinder out of here!" Flamestrike said, picking Cinderfeather up and running back to camp before dropping her in the medicine cat's den. "Stay strong, please... I'll be back soon." Flamestrike said before running back to the fight.

The ThunderClan cat was in the dog's jaws, and Flamestrike rescued her by running up and clawing the dog's face. Unfortunately, this only angered the dog, who dropped the she-cat and bit at Flame, severely injuring him. "Ok, this dog is picking us off one by one. RETREAT!!" He yowls, running back to camp, injured, and hoping the others fall back too. He runs into the den. "Now I need help too." He manages to say before collapsing.
