Moons have passed since the journey concluded, and things had returned to normal. Flamestrike was patrolling the RiverClan-ThunderClan border. "Ah, fox-dung!" Cursed a ThunderClan apprentice trying to catch a mouse. "Get back here!" She chases the mouse over the border, but Flamestrike blocks her path before she crosses. "Not so fast!" He warned. "It's on our side of the border now." "Aww... man!" The apprentice sighs. "I'll never pass the assessment at this rate! They'll make me a medicine cat!" She wails. "Dosn't ThunderClan already have a medicine cat apprentice?" Flamestrike said, confused.

"Yea, but they'll make me another one!" She cries. "Um... you already have two medicine cats... they never have and never WILL decide to have three... unless you all are secretly rabbits." He purred. "R-Really?" the apprentice said. "Yep! Honestly, the only thing wrong is that you waited too late to pounce. Otherwise, you would have caught it." He purred. He smelled a vole on ThunderClan's side of the border. "Speaking of which.... there's a vole in that bush over there." The apprentice nodded, and tried to catch vole, but again failed. "Mouse-dung!" She hissed.

"Better, but your tail wasn't low enough to the ground." Flamestrike said. The mouse came back over to her side of the border. "Well, the mouse came back. It just couldn't stay away." Flamestrike purred. The apprentice caught the mouse. "Thank you for the help!" She purred. "No problem. I need to get back to my patrol. What's your name by the way? I'm Flamestrike." "Splotchpaw." "Well, Splotchpaw, good luck with your assessment!" Flamestrike continued on his way. Wait. I just mentored a ThunderClan apprentice. Wow, I just implied that ThunderClan was dependent on other clans! I hope they have some herbs, cause that's one HELL of a burn! Flamestrike purred, continuing on his patrol.
