Life of Flamestrike

Chapter 13: Agate

Flamestrike was on patrol near the ThunderClan-RiverClan border. Coming from the other direction was the ThunderClan cat that helped Flamestrike, Appletail, and Cinderfeather in the battle against the dog. "Hey!" Flamestrike walked over to her. "What caused you to help us with the dog earlier?" Flamestrike asked. "Oh, no reason. Who are you?" Blackclaw narrowed her eyes. "I'm Flamestrike. You?" He said, twitching his ear. "Blackclaw." She responded. Then, Podzol walked up. "Hey Blackclaw. Oh, hey, Flamestrike!" Podzol purred, noticing Flamestrike. "Hey Podzol!" Flamestrike replied.

Suddenly, a loner runs out of a bush, screaming. "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!" He yowls, running. The three were confused until they saw the squirrel chasing him. The three instantly started laughing. "Isn't this supposed to be the other way around!?" Blackclaw said. "WHAT THE HELL!?" Flamestrike was practically dying of laughter. "AHH, CATS!!! Don't hurt me!" The loner says. Podzol laughs. "You think we would?" He laughs. Flamestrike continues. "We're not going to hurt you, it's just... squirrels are usually prey, not predators! Who are you anyway? I'm Flamestrike, this is Podzol-" Flamestrike said before being interrupted. "And I'm Blackclaw." She purred. "Y-you're not going to hurt me?" The loner said, trembling in fear. "Nope." Podzol replied. "O-ok... I-I'm Ag-Agate." The loner stammers out. A leaf falls nearby. "AHHH!! RUN!!!" Agate yells, running off.

He comes back after a bit. "S-sorry, I got s-scared." He said. "So I see." Flamestrike purred. "How is this cat alive?" Podzol whispered to Flamestrike. "Well... you know..." Flamestrike responded. "Know what?" Agate asked, confused. "Okay, how is this cat alive?" Flamestrike asked. Podzol shrugged. "I just asked yo-" "I know, Podzol. I was there." Flamestrike said, purring. Blackclaw answered Agate. "Nothing. Ask your parents 'where do kits come from' and you'll find out." She purred. "Um... where DO they come from? And what are parents?" Agate asked.

Podzol facepawed. "This cat is SO going to die." He said. "N-NO I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!!" Agate yowled, running off. "Um... should we go after him?" Podzol suggests. "Nah." Blackclaw said. "He'll be fine and will probably come back in a bit." "Er... I-I need to go." Flamestrike said blushing, suddenly running off and noticeably keeping his tail low and his back legs close together. Podzol and Blackclaw chased after him. "Flamestrike!?" Blackjack said. "Are you okay!?" Podzol said at the same time, both clearly worried. "I'll be back in 30 minutes! Don't follow me!" He said, darting into a cave.

Podzol and Blackclaw stop at the cave entrance. "I don't want to go in there. I don't like caves" Podzol said. "Is that why you aren't a clan cat?" Blackclaw asked. "Yeah." He responds. "I'll go in with you." Blackclaw said. Suddenly, they heard Agate yowl in terror. "Ok, new plan. You go help Agate and I'll go i-" Blackclaw starts before being interrupted by a moan in the cave. Blackclaw and Podzol got wide-eyed, realizing what Flamestrike was doing. "Erm... let's BOTH go help Agate." Blackclaw said blushing. "Y-yeah..." Podzol said as they ran off to help Agate.

Flamestrike walks back over to the group when done. He sees Blackclaw and Podzol panting, and Agate hissing. "Well, I'm SORRY I'm stupid!!" He hisses. "Woah, what's going on?" Flamestrike asked. "This dumb cat attracted the attention of a badger!" Blackclaw hissed. Agate hisses. "I wanted to see what that thing was, and YOU had to chase it off!!!" Agate yells. "If it got close to you, it would have killed you!!" Blackclaw hisses. "YOU GUYS ARE EVIL JERKS AND DESERVE TO DIE!! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN!!!!" He says, running off.

"Shit, he running towards the badger!" Blackclaw yells. "Let's go get him!" Podzol yells and the three chase Agate. "DON'T GO THAT WAY!! YOU'LL RUN INTO THE BADGER!!!" Podzol yowls. "GO AWAY!!! YOU ALL DESERVE TO DIE!!! YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE FUN OF ME MORE!!!" Agate yowls in response. "NO, WE'RE TRYING TO SAVE YOU!!!" Flamestrike yowls before they run into the badger. "Go go go!" Flame yells, charging into the badger and followed by Podzol and Blackclaw. Eventually, they fight off the badger. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE THAT STUPID!!!" Blackclaw hisses. "YOU ALL NEED TO DIE WITH ALL YOUR STUPID CLANS!!!!" Agate yells. "THAT'S IT!!" Flamestrike shouts, unsheathing his claws. "Run. NOW." He hisses. "GO DIE!! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU BULLIES AGAIN!!!" Agate said, before running off.

"Well, I didn't want to do that but it seemed necessary." Flamestrike said to the other two. "Yea, I didn't like it, but you DO have a point..." Podzol said, a little frightened by Flamestrike's actions. "Well... I'm gonna head back to camp and get some much-needed rest. Night guys." He purred before heading off back to camp.
