Sam rolled over in the bed as the door was pushed gently to. "That you?" "Mmm, sorry..." She spoke in hushed whispers as she slipped her heels from her feet before undoing her dress, pushing it to the floor.
Connie quickly pulled her hair up before climbing into the bed beside Sam, his arms immediately wrapping around her and pulling her close. She shuffled closer before her face was inches from his as her eyes searched his. "Con-" "You know I think you're amazing don't you?"
Sam frowned watching her as she pressed her lips to his. When she parted he looked to her again as she moved a hand to his cheek. "You've watched Grace for almost three weeks while I spend every hour at that hospital and haven't complained once. I sort of expected some sort of fall out from this, but you haven't said anything. If anything I feel like we've got stronger, how I don't understand but you won't hear me moan."
He chuckled lightly before she edged slightly closer to his lips. "I love you Mr Strachan and I can't thank you enough for these last few weeks." Connie closed the space between them again as she deepened the kiss. Sam's hands were warm against her skin as they held her close. Connie moved to straddle his waist, her hands pressed to his chest before running down his body.
She lifted the bottom of his shirt, breaking from his lips to pull it over his head and discard it to the floor. Connie replaced her lips on his, the kiss more heated than before. "I missed you-" Sam spoke against her lips before she kissed him again.
A few coughs from the next room caused Connie to sit up slightly. "She's been unwell this afternoon." Connie dropped her eyes back to Sam before Grace began to cry. Climbing off she grabbed her dressing gown, tying it around her front before rushing to her daughter's room.
"Mummy?" "Hey, come here baby." Connie was barely perched on the edge of the bed before Grace was falling into her arms. Grace's arms wrapped around Connie's neck as she lifted her daughter onto her lap. Her hands ran up and down her back slowly until she settled again. Grace was drifting in her mothers arms before Connie lay down on the bed with her, still holding her.
Watching Grace sleep, a smile came to her lips. Her girl was growing up so quickly and recently she hadn't been around to witness that. She started school in less than a month, and time was running out for her to see her little girl grow. Sleeping now, she reminded Connie of the same quiet girl she was when she was born.
When she was sure Grace was asleep, Connie removed herself from the bed and walked through to her own bedroom again. Sam's eyes were shut causing Connie to smile to herself. He must be exhausted, between his final few treatment sessions and caring for Grace he didn't have time for an awful lot of rest. Especially when he refused to stop his work shifts too.
Connie remained by the door for a while watching before she moved to the floor beside the bed. She watched the gentle rise and fall of Sam's chest while he remained peaceful. "You don't know how much you mean to me Sam. I hope I never have to lose you again, I'm not sure I'd cope without you." Her fingers ran carefully over the smooth skin of his chest as he rolled his head to the side to face her. "Stop talking like I'm going to disappear."
She smirked as he spoke keeping his eyes closed. "And get into this bed with me now would you woman?" Connie laughed before standing up and watching Sam shuffle into the middle of the bed giving her room to lay next to him. She fit perfectly inside his arms as she rest her head to his chest, Sam's hands running through the few loose curls that had fallen.
It was silent for a while before her words came from nowhere. "Can you dance?" "Huh?" Sam scoffed as she tilted her head up to look at him. "Can you dance? For the wedding I mean-" "I'm sure I can dig out a few moves for you-" "That's a no then." Sam prodded her waist gently causing her to wriggle in his grasp with a smile. "I am not taking dancing lessons if that's what you're implying."
Connie rolled onto her front to look up at him giving him a particular look he had failed to ignore yet. Sam dropped his head back with a roll of his eyes. "Connieeee-" "Pleeease, you never know it might work in your benefit." He arched a brow looking back to her intrigued. "How so?" "Well I happen to think that a man who can dance is very attractive." Her hand trailed down his chest painfully slow as she spoke.
She laughed as Sam seemed to give in. "I love you." Pressing a kiss to his cheek he smirked hugging her again. "I haven't agreed yet-" "Oh you will, if you want a wedding." He grabbed her waist causing her to laugh again before pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "I'll dance, if you agree to let me and Grace cover music." "Why do I feel like that would be a very bad deal?" Sam shrugged as she pushed her tongue into her cheek. "Fine. You and Grace can do music, but just know I am not doing the Macarena for our first dance."
Sam laughed as Connie settled back down beside him, beginning to fall asleep. "I promise, you won't be dancing the Macarena for your first dance. I love you Con." He stretched carefully before getting comfortable with her, letting himself fall asleep with her in his arms.
