Connie laid in bed, the morning oddly quiet as she turned over to find the bed empty and light flooding through the curtains. From the other room she began to hear whisperings and Belle's gentle crying. "Hey, hey, come on princess your Mummy's catching up with all this lost sleep..."
A smile grew on her face as she sat forwards holding the sheets close to her chest. Listening to Sam she bit her bottom lip trying to stop the smile on her lips. "There we go, you just like being held don't you... Reminds me of someone else I know..." He smiled down at her as she lay against his chest.
Placing a kiss to her head he continued lightly tracing his fingers across the back of her neck. Remaining where she was in bed, Connie let her thoughts drift. She wished Sam could have been around for all of this when Grace was born, she felt as though she'd taken that away from him somehow by not telling him.
Her eyes quickly picked up to where Sam was standing in the doorway watching her. "I think someone's got a favourite already." Connie smiled running a hand back through her hair as Sam crossed the room slowly to sit on the bed beside her. She reached a hand over to tuck down the blanket surrounding her, the smile becoming wider on her face again as she looked to Belle. "She really is beautiful-" "Takes after her Mummy then."
Connie gently let her head fall to his shoulder as he rest back beside her. "Really? I think she looks more like you..." Sam grinned looking at his daughter before placing a kiss to the top of Connie's head. "Want to take her?" "I'm quite happy here..." Sam laughed gently causing Connie to sit up. "Well I think you have something I don't."
A smirk came to her face as she cuddled Belle who turned into her straight away beginning to moan. "I'll go make Grace some breakfast, do you want anything?" "A drink would be good." Sam nodded kneeling on the bed as he kissed her gently before leaving them alone. Connie began to feed Belle as she rubbed her thumb across her daughter's cheek.
Connie was mesmerised as she looked down with a smile. Downstairs Grace was laying upside down on the sofa as Sam walked in and glanced at her. He walked into the kitchen before stopping, taking a few steps backwards and looking to Grace again. "Sweetheart what are you doing?" "Morning Daddy... I was wandering what it would be like to be a bat. Hanging upside down must get really hard."
Sam shook his head with a laugh as he returned to the kitchen making her something to eat. Deciding against Connie's request for a drink he pulled a few things out of the cupboard to make pancakes. "Grace how about you put some music on over there then come and help me with making your Mum something to eat." "Okay Daddy!"
Within seconds she was in the kitchen, red faced after having been upside down for who knows how long. "Can you pass me that bowl?" Grace passed it over before helping to weigh out the various ingredients. It didn't take long for flour to be dropped over the sides. Sam was distracted with something as Grace looked down to the mess.
Her eyes glowed as a devilish smile crossed her face. Pressing her hands palm down into the flour she coated them before lifting them to look at them. Twisting around she faced Sam before pressing her hands against his shirt. "Grace what are you- Grace Beauchamp!" She giggled jumping down from the chair but Sam was quick enough to grab her waist.
Her laughter became louder as Sam rubbed the flour back over his daughter. "You are a pain little miss..." Sam stood her back on the chair grabbing a sponge to wipe the flour from her face. He shook his head with a smile as Grace grinned widely at him. "I love you Daddy-" "Don't pull that one on me you..." She smiled sweetly as he returned to making breakfast with her.
Connie had finished feeding Belle who was now fast asleep in her arms once again. Looking up to the door she saw Grace concentrating, biting her lip as she carried the glass of water into the bedroom. "Morning Mummy we made you breakfast." "I think you mean I made breakfast, you made a mess." Graced giggled as she put the glass of water down on the side before carefully bounding onto the bed.
"Mummy babies are boring. All she ever does is sleep." Connie smirked over at her daughter as Sam slipped Belle from her arms. He looked to her then to the tray of food. Connie rolled her eyes before placing it in front of her as she spoke to Grace. "So... What are we doing today then princess?" "Daddy said we would play games with me on the wii downstairs." Connie nodded with a smile reaching an arm out to Grace.
She quickly shuffled into her mother's embrace with a smile as she hugged her. "So... How much mess did you make exactly?" Grace covered her mouth as she laughed, Connie arching a brow before shaking her head. "You are a nightmare Grace Beauchamp." Connie began to eat as Sam returned to the room flopping down onto the end of the bed. Grace crawled further down the bed to him as he rolled onto his back lifting her onto his front.
"I hope you told your Mummy that I cleaned up your mess." Connie smiled as she finished eating before putting the tray back on the side. "So I've heard your having a games day." Sam nodded as he turned his head to the side. "It's okay isn't it?" "Of course... Come on, you best go down and get it set up or it'll be lunch before you know it."
Grace climbed off of Sam's chest and ran downstairs leaving Connie to get up out of the bed. "Hey, you're okay aren't you? You'd tell me if something was wrong." She frowned nodding as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Of course I would. I'm just behind on sleep, that's all. I love you." She tiptoed up to kiss him as he smiled against her lips.
Sam swiftly picked her up as she laughed carrying her out of the room and downstairs. She spent the morning watching Grace and Sam dance and race each other on the various games they owned. Eventually Connie drifted off to sleep on the sofa behind them as they decided to head into the garden for a couple of hours leaving her to rest.
