Sam groaned dropping down to the floor as Connie stood with her hands on her hips. "I give up, I need to get back to work I'll see you tonight." He watched as she grabbed her bag before walking out leaving him on the floor.

"Connie wait." Turning back she folded her arms against her chest sighing. "What?" Sam jumped up from the floor stepping up to her, only stopping when he was inches away from her. "Sam what are you doi-" "Put your bag down." She frowned before dropping it to one side as Sam placed his hands on her hips.

He trailed them up her waist and continued going until he laced his fingers through hers. "Never once did you actually ask if I had danced before." For the last few hours Connie had been attempting to get Sam to dance but it had all gone horribly wrong. "Don't think about it, just watch me."

Connie kept her eyes on his as he stepped backwards with her. Letting go of her hands, he wrapped one around her waist turning around quickly. Connie clasped her arm around his shoulders as she pressed against his chest. Sam smirked as they danced slowly together.

Sam remained quiet as his eyes focused on hers, and the smile that was stretching on her face. He stepped carefully, moving around with her following almost effortlessly. Sam pushed her back, keeping hold of her hand before spinning her in a circle before pulling her back into his chest.

Connie couldn't help but smile as Sam held her waist lifting her into the air as he turned. She slipped back down to the floor, pressed closely to his chest the entire time. Connie's expression had become serious as he stood only centimetres away from her. "See, you always did think too much into everything rather than just let it happen."

Sam's hand was pressed to the small of her back before lifting to the back of her neck beneath her hair. Connie dropped her gaze causing a smile to fall on his face. "You're a pretty good dancer yourself Beauchamp." Trying to hide the smirk she moved her eyes back to his. "What? Worried that all that was a one off?"

Connie rolled her eyes as Sam walked backwards holding her hands still. "I can dance Beauchamp, don't worry I won't destroy your wedding if you can keep up with me." Connie scoffed as he spun her around again with a smile. They continued to laugh before Sam picked her up once again. "Will you just put me down? This isn't Holby's version of dirty dancing Strachan."

As he lowered her, he kept hold of her as her legs wound around his waist. Before either could talk, their lips were on one another's. Sam stumbled towards the wall until her back was pushed up against it, his hands roaming her body as she deepened the kiss. His hands held onto her bare waist where her top had risen.

Both forgetting their surroundings, neither stopped what they were doing until a knock came at the door. Connie laughed as Sam placed her back onto the floor before stepping towards the office door while she slipped behind it. "Ah Mr Strachan, I don't suppose you've seen Mrs Beauchamp about anywhere? She was supposed to be in a meeting with me half an hour ago."

Connie froze at Hansen's voice as Sam pressed a hand to the door frame blocking any sort of view inside. "Afraid not, should be in the ED still I haven't seen her all morning." Hansen nodded stepping away from the door as Sam let it close to. "You liar-" "Well technically it's afternoon, and I didn't see you all morning." Connie smirked wrapping her arms around his neck as his went around her waist.

"Shouldn't you get going to your meeting?" Connie sniggered shaking her head while her hand reached to the lock of the office door. "No chance Strachan." He matched her expression picking her up once again and crossing the office towards the sofa.

By the time they got home that evening it was already fairly late but Grace was still awake. "Mummy! Daddy!" She ran through the living room with a smile while Charlie sat on the sofa with a smile. "Refused to sleep before seeing you two-" "Thank you Charlie, assuming she was a handful tonight."

Connie wandered into the kitchen with him while Sam scooped Grace up from the floor. When Connie looked again she saw him dancing around the room with her in his arms. "Your Mummy was impressed with my dancing today you know. Probably have you to thank for that after all the days we've spent dancing." Grace nodded as she laughed holding onto him.

"Daddy you're the best." "Where's all this coming from Grace?" He sat down on the sofa as she sat across his lap looking down at her hands. "Well... Some people don't have Daddy's, I didn't for a long time but now I do and I wanted to tell you you're the best Daddy ever." Sam smiled caressing her cheek. "Well Grace Beauchamp, you are the bestest daughter in the entire world."

Grace giggled before looking to Sam. "Would Mummy be upset if I said I wanted to have the same name as you?" "What do you mean Princess?" Grace continued fiddling around with the sleeves of her jumper. "Well your name isn't the same as mine, it's St-Strec-" "Strachan?" "Yeah." She nodded having struggled trying to say it causing Sam to smile. "I'm confused Grace, what are you asking sweetheart?"

Connie stopped in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe after showing Charlie out. "I want people to know you're my Daddy properly and I love Mummy, but Mummy's name isn't even Beauchamp it's Chase so why do I have to have it?" Sam was lost for words not wanting to say anything Connie wasn't okay with. "Is that what you want baby?"

Both looked up to see Connie gradually coming into the room. Graced nodded without lifting her eyes to her mother. "Then I guess your Daddy better get ready to have two girls with his name." Grace's smile grew while Sam watched her slightly taken aback. "Really?" "She's your daughter Sam, only reason it wasn't this way before was because I couldn't give her your name with you not knowing about her."

Sam smiled looking back to Grace. "Then I am very happy that the two girls happen to be the most beautiful girls in this world." Grace giggled hugging his chest again while he wrapped an arm around Connie's shoulders. "I love you-" "And I love you too... And you're dancing." He laughed falling back to the sofa before tickling Grace, the normality of family life well and truly embedded into their everyday routine.
