"Please Mummy it will be fun?" Connie folded her arms against her chest with a raised eyebrow looking between her daughter and Sam. "A trampoline park? Really, do you want to die?" "Come on it'll be a laugh and if you're that worried about me, I'll watch you guys." She continued to look between the pair seeing Grace bat her eyelids.
Groaning she dropped her arms with a roll of her eyes. "Fine, get your shoes on." Grace ran up to Connie throwing her arms around her legs before disappearing from the room. Connie looked across to Sam narrowing her eyes. "Don't start Strachan-" "You might enjoy yourself." He wound his arms around her waist as she reluctantly let him pull her closer.
Connie tried not to smile as he kissed her gently trying to warm her to the idea. "I love you if it helps-" "It doesn't-" "Was worth a try." She smirked shaking her head before walking out of his grasp.
Sam drove out of town while Connie sat chatting to Grace. He stole glances at the two of them the entire way before they came to a stop. "So, you ready?" Connie rolled her eyes while Grace grinned widely bouncing about the back of the car. "Lets go then sweetheart." Sam helped her from the car while Connie slowly wandered round to meet them.
Inside it was fairly quiet, with only a few others inside. Connie walked in with Grace while Sam paid. "Woah I thought you were sitting out for this?" "Give over Con, it's just a trampoline." She narrowed her eyes at him as he stepped around her, scooping Grace up from the floor heading towards the floor.
Connie watched for a moment as they steadied themselves before Grace was bouncing all over the place. She was comfortable on level ground observing them before Sam came closer to her. "Shouldn't you be watching out daughter?" "Shouldn't you live a little?" Connie rolled her eyes as Sam held his hands out to Connie.
Reluctantly, she took them letting him pull her up. Sam quickly left Connie to move after Grace who was laughing across the other side of the room. Connie was soon joined by Grace who held onto her hands bouncing with her. A warm smile settled on Connie's face as she enjoyed herself with her daughter.
Grace moved away once again just as Sam came towards Connie. She wasn't aware of him getting closer until he was behind her causing her to scream in shock. She spun round slamming a hand into his chest while he laughed. "It's not funny!" "It's pretty funny." Sam dropped his arms around her waist placing a gentle kiss to her lips before messing around with her.
"Sam if I fall off this bloody thing because of you I'll kill you!" He continued to pull her after him across the various mats. "Just shut up and don't be so boring." Connie pushed him causing him to lose his balance falling down to the trampoline. "Sam! I'm sorry-" "You will be Beauchamp." Connie had moved to help him up before rushing across the room keeping her distance from him with a smirk.
A few hours passed as they laughed with one another. "Grace! Watch this!" Connie looked up from her daughter to see Sam bouncing quite high. Predicting what he was about to do she closed her eyes knowing it was going to end badly. Sam jumped once more before flipping, but lost his footing when he landed causing him to tumble into a heap. "Ouch, sh-" "Sam..."
Connie ran towards him kneeling down next to him, her hands holding onto his lower leg. "It's fi-ne." He faltered as she tried to move his ankle about. "You were saying?" Sam continued to flinch as Connie checked his ankle. "Is everything okay over here?" "It's fine I'm a doctor and he's an idiot." Connie smirked towards Sam sarcastically as he rolled his eyes dropping his head down to the floor.
Grace sat to the side smiling happily, red-faced. "I'm glad someone's still smiling princess." Grace grinned widely before Connie looked up to Sam. "It's not broken and I doubt you've fractured anything..." Connie got up offering a hand to Sam who refused but struggled getting up. "Oh for god sake Sam." She bent down moving his arm around her shoulders supporting him as he stood.
They put their shoes on before heading back out to the car. Sam hobbled out with the help of Connie while Grace skipped on ahead. "Baby stay close in the car park please." She glanced to Sam who was no supporting himself, holding her hand. "You okay?" He smiled looking up to her nodding gently. "Sure, because if you're not then I can take you to the ED-" "Con stop, I trust you to know what you're talking about."
She smiled as they all got into the car, Connie driving his car home. "Sooo, same time next week?" "Hilarious Sam. You are never going to one of those places again." He laughed turning the radio up as they drove along the road. Grace watched, amused by her father as he began singing along to the song. Connie tried desperately to hide her amusement but struggled.
It was getting hotter outside as they continued the drive home. "Daddy?" "Yes princess." He twisted in his seat to talk to Grace while Connie turned the corner onto their road. It was still a strange sensation driving to Sam's and not hers, even after the two months they'd been living together here.
Stopping on the drive outside Grace was out of the car before Connie had even undone her belt. "Anyone would think she was eager to get home." Sam smiled before they got out of the car letting themselves inside. "You want a drink Con?" "No I'm good thank you, where's Grace gone?" She looked about noticing their daughter had disappeared rather quickly.
Connie opened the doors to the garden letting the cool air blow over her. "I told her we could set up the pool for her." She smiled stepping into his embrace in the kitchen. "How is your ankle?" "It'll be fine." Sam smiled leaning down to meet her lips carefully. It started innocently before Connie stumbled backwards, her back hitting the wall as Sam deepened the kiss.
His hands roamed her body sliding underneath her top, his fingers skimming over her bare skin as she inhaled at his touch. Connie gripped onto his neck urging him closer as she responded to him. "Daddy can we do the pool now?" The pair pulled apart hearing Grace from the stairs. Connie looked flustered as she ran a hand back through her hair while Sam faced his daughter. "Course we can sweetheart, head outside and we'll get it out."
She nodded skipping into the garden while he turned back to Connie with a smirk. Once again she stepped forwards kissing him just as she had seconds ago. Sam was taken aback resting against the kitchen side as his hands ran down her thighs. Connie pressed her hands to his chest before breaking from his lips while Sam frowned. "What was that for?" "Need a reason do I?" Sam matched her smile before heading outside into the garden together.
