Chapter 13- Practice Makes Perfect

~Scotty's POV 

When I woke up the next morning Emily was still sound asleep in my arms. She's really cute when she sleeps. I decided to wake her up. I gently let go of her and leaned over her and kissed her awake. I could wake up to this every morning. Like seriously. She smiled once I woke her up, and it turned into a wicked make-out session.

~Emily's POV

Last night I dreamt about Scotty winning American Idol 10, and also the fact that I stay out here with him, until that happened. When I felt this warmth on my lips, I knew it was him kissing me outside of my dream. I didn't even open my eyes, I just smiled and kissed him back. As he was about to pull away, I reached up for his lips again and he smiled. I don't really remember much else except his hands holding my sides as he pinned me down to the bed, making out, and all I could feel were those extremely tickling butterflies. When we stopped kissing, to actually breathe I couldn't help not smiling at him. I would love waking up to a kiss like that more often. 

Today was now Saturday and so it was the first day that the contestants were to meet all of their competitors and the judges, oh and the people behind the scenes like vocal coaches and stuff. They had asked everyone to be back at the studio for 2pm, and it was already noon. Damn we slept in pretty long. Once we were all ready, Scotty said he would drive us over there. We were there 15 minutes early and went to wait inside. The secretary lady gave Scotty an ID tag and gave me a temporary visitor pass. 

~Scotty's POV

After meeting all of the contestants, I thought I knew a girl and then it hit me. The one that was standing behind me in line yesterday. She was the only other competitor in the country category, out of about 100 people. We were split into sections of boys, girls, groups, and over 25s. Then we met or mentors, and vocal coaches. Emily had been asked to leave, along with all of the other people that had visitor passes. We chose our first songs and started rehearsing for the first episode. My song is a secret, I'm not even going to tell Em, the only person that knows is my VC. 

As the week went on I was constantly at the studio practicing, I really wanted to win this thing. Emily would drop me off in the afternoon and go explore the city or go back to the room and find something to do. I felt really bad, but she said she understood how much I wanted to win. That just meant the nights that we were together meant more. 

~Emily's POV

It was now Wednesday and they started filming for the first episode later that night. I had dropped Scotty off, just like I had been all week. I really didn't mind it because then I would go back to the room and watch a movie. Or sometimes just grab the gps and hunt out new places to go out to eat. My favorite thing to do while waiting was to walk across the street and just read in this beautiful little park. It has a gazebo in the center and a lot of pretty flowers and walkways and stuff. I sat at my favorite bench to the left of the gazebo, like a did on any nice day. When a boy around our age sat down next to me.

"Hi, I'm Alex, are you new around here.?" He asked

To be honest he was cute, with floppy brown hair and green eyes, about Scotty's height. Wait I have a boyfriend.. "Yeah kind of, I was up here with my boyfriend because he's on American Idol." Then I introduced myself, to be polite.

He didn't look taken back by the part when I said boyfriend at all. "That's really cool, can you sing?"

"Haha, no but I wish I could." I said nicely. I honestly just wanted to go back to my book, and for him to leave me alone. 

"What are you reading?" He asked.

"Oh this its just a novel that I have to read for school, which is over 1000 miles away."

"Let me get this straight, you still have school work while you're up here?"

"Yeah or they won't give us credit and we can't pass junior year."

"That sucks." He said

"Yeah it does."

"Well it was nice meeting you Emily. I'll let you get back to your book. See you around?"

"Yeah probably." I said, I was just relieved that I could get back to my book.

When Scotty texted saying he was done for today, and he'd meet me at the truck.
