2 weeks later
~Emily's POV
Today is the day of the third show of American Idol. Its already down to the top 25 contestants, including Scotty and Brooke. Tonight is also the first live show and Scotty invited me to come to the venue to watch. I got ready early that morning and dropped him off around noon, like I had been doing for the last 2 weeks. He has worked so hard for this, and I'm so proud of him. I really don't mind driving him there, because of how hard he is working. The last two weeks were brutal for some competitors.
With tonight’s live show I went back to our room and got ready, in case I would have to be on tv or anything. I dressed in my normal clothes, flannel shirt, blue jeans, and Carolina boots. I took the time to straighten my hair and I actually put on a little bit of foundation. By the time I was done it was around two o'clock in the afternoon, and the show didn't begin until 8. So I went to the park.
Once I sat down I wondered whatever happened to Alex. I saw him one other time last week, but never again after that. We had, had a casual conversation about school, and stuff like that. I just thought it was weird how I haven't talked to him in a while, he just disappeared. I just decided to sit there and space out, I thought about the last two weeks and how much more popular Scotty has become. It has gotten to the point that it’s getting harder to go out to eat at night. Meaning like anywhere, even if we drive an hour away he still gets recognized.
~Scotty's POV
I'll be honest I AM quite nervous for tonight’s show. Just how it’s going to be live. Brooke and I have become pretty close and stuff but I think just as friends. Last week when I had a radio interview one of the questions asked if I was single. I answered honestly and told about Em and I. Like how we've known each other all our lives, and started dating just before the beginning of the show. Poor Brooke because I think she was starting to like me as more than a friend, and she knows that I would never do that, to Emily.
While getting in my final rehearsal for tonight my mentor and the judges were giving lots of positive comments. Like; "Great vocals", "You look like you're meant to be up there." That last comment made most of my nerves go away. It also helped knowing that Em would be right there in the front row for me. Once it hit 7:50 the excitement level climbed backstage. I wasn’t to perform until about 20 or so, which was a good thing. As I waited patiently, Brooke tried to get a conversation going.
“What song are you singing tonight?”
“That’s my Kinda Night,” I didn’t have to tell her the artist.
“Oh sweet, I’m doing Concrete Angel, by Martina McBride.”
“That should be a good song for you, break a leg.” I said as I was walking out onto the stage. There was uproaring of screaming as my name was announced. Surprising, I guess I really am popular. I had to kill this performance because eliminations are tomorrow night.
All throughout my song I would constantly be glancing at Em, because it did help having her there. The judges gave me great comments for the third week in a row. Score! Then I went down to sit with Emily in the crowd, just in time for Brooke to go on stage.
~Brooke’s POV
I watched as Scotty performed and got great feedback, again. Like honestly how does he do that. After the commercial break I was up next, and the nerves were sinking in. I walked out and the music was starting, I think I nailed it but, the judges didn’t think so. They said stuff like the song was too high for me, or something. I couldn’t help but look at Scotty and his girlfriend in the audience. They are so cute, but why can’t that be me? It’s just not fair.
~Emily’s POV
When Brooke didn’t do that well, I couldn’t help but feel a little happy about it. But I didn’t let on. She did well it was just that her high notes were a bit off. Scotty on the other hand was amazing, as usual, must be the constant practicing. Hard work pays off.
After the show was over, Scotty drove us back to the hotel and we checked our emails and did some school work. I had an English paper to write and we both had a few homework assignments from math class. It took him maybe about an hour to finish, and I was still working on my paper when he fell asleep. I stopped at around 11:30 and climbed into my own bed because I didn’t want to wake him. Tomorrow was another big day, ELIMINATIONS.
~Scotty’s POV
When I woke up that morning and Emily wasn’t within arm’s reach it was disappointing. So I stood up and lied down next to her in her bed, for a little bit. Once it was finally time to get up I woke her with a kiss of the forehead. We got ready and went out for breakfast/lunch. Then I thought we should go do something fun before going back into town. I chose to go trail riding, since it’s been a while since we’ve both ridden. Em has a horse back home but she said she’s just been too busy.
I pulled into this little barns driveway and she looked over at me hesitantly. “You’re gunna get back on a horse, since there’s plenty of time now.” I said.

A.N. Aww isn't that cute. Going on a trail ride together.
Yeah so I tried writing earlier and wattpad was being silly and not saving it so that's why its up around my normal time.
Who's gunna watch the ACA's?? I recorded it so that's what I'm gunna do right now. Scotty's up for breakthrough artist, lets see if he gets it this year.!!!
Like always another chapter tomorrow. Love y'all~Emily
