A.N.  Here’s to the glorious chapter 30! I never even saw this coming I thought I wasn’t going to get that many readers and would just end this book in the teens. But thanks to y’all I’m keeping it going.

(P.s. I kinda of skipped to their first day Senior Year by accident and am too lazy to go back to fix it so just pretend they came back from American Idol as seniors instead of juniors like I had said a few chapters back)

~Scotty’s POV

Computer class is so boring! I sat near the back as my teacher got right into lecturing about whatever. I honestly didn’t care I know how to type and write letters, just let me sleep. Grant was standing at the back of the room and I stuck in one of my headphones secretly while the teacher had her back turned. He noticed my little bit of rebellion towards the class and I got a text from him that said that I should pay attention. I even more secretively texted back and said that I didn’t feel like it.

~Emily’s POV

I honestly hate being back at school. Compared to having an extended vacation and being able to do school work basically whenever I wanted was perfect. Chemistry is my worst subject and I don’t see how it would tie to me because I want to be a grade school math teacher, I don’t need Chemistry, but my school thinks that I do. I sat there listening to my new teacher blab on and on about safety. The same lecture you get at the beginning of every science class. I wish I had more classes with Scotty.

When first block was finally over and the music sounded I couldn’t get out of the damn room fast enough, good thing I sat near the door. I met up with Scotty on the first floor outside my English class. He had written down my schedule and I did the same with his. He didn’t have a second block and I was stuck in English class. We talked before the music went off and Grant walked with him to the lunchroom.

English is always brutal, but I’ll give her props for trying to memorize our names on the first day. She said that most of the class is online, which is fine because you can stray off and go on twitter or something. They say that they track your internet use but I’ve never gotten in trouble. We got another lecture and I couldn’t help but almost fall asleep, I’m getting a coffee next block definitely.

~Scotty’s POV

I liked having second block off because I had the time for my fingers to recuperate before having to write notes or something. Do you know that feeling when you stare at a computer screen for too long and almost get like tunnel vision, having no class helped me refocus too. I sat in the lunchroom talking with Grant about what the studio would be like and stuff like that.

The music finally played again and Emily came to find me this time. She has a class off and wanted my truck keys to go get a coffee before her next class. Senior privileges are awesome because we can have a block off each semester and are allowed to leave as long as we come back 10 minutes before the music. I gave her my keys and kissed her goodbye telling her to be careful, since they are of course my two favorite ladies in the world. I was now headed off to English, the same place Em just came from, while Em was going to the Dunkins that was just up the road.

She had told me English was brutal and damn she wasn’t lying. Yes it was great having that time off but it still didn’t make having this teacher any better. Of course she congratulated me on my win and treated me like royalty, even though I was trying to blend back in. We started on computers and again I was starting to get the annoying feeling of Senioritis, basically when you are too lazy to do anything. I got through class and was glad I asked Em to get me something when she was there. Especially for history class since we both hate it.

~Emily’s POV

Of course I had to hit traffic on the way back to school and I was down to only five minutes to get back and to get parked. I called the school and told them about my predicament. They told me not to worry about for today, thank goodness. The lady at Dunkins had absolutely no clue of what was going on. I had to repeat myself at least twice and it really wasn’t that hard of an order. By the time I got on the road I had about half an hour before our deadline of being back at school, which I thought was plenty of time. I got a text from Scotty, and I was stopped dead so I looked down and checked it;

S: Where are my girls?

E: Traffic, save me a seat?

He didn’t reply because he hated it when I texted and drove. I know it’s really bad to do but I was going to explain that traffic was stopped dead.

Once I finally got there I had to circle the lot twice to find a place, great more time wasted. Frig it I pulled into the snow bank and left it there, if we are actually stuck Grant can tow us out. I ran inside, well not actually ran, I’m too lazy for that, got my pass from the office and went to the second floor for US History. I checked my phone for the time and realized what todays date it; 1/29/14 the day before Travis died, one year ago.

~Scotty’s POV

When Em finally walked in the door with my truck keys in hand and an office pass in the other, our teacher just looked up not the least bit bothered.

Teacher: (to Emily) “Where have you been.” She paused to look at her roster,” Ms. Lynch?”

Emily: “Sorry Mrs. Yackanin, I got stuck in traffic.”

What she didn’t have an excuse for was the coffees she was balancing on her way to our seats. They were assigned seats but we were still next to each other because of last names, like always. Our teacher handed out all of the usual what to expect from this course papers and stuff. She’s definitely the best teacher in both of our days. Guess we won’t be needing end of the day caffeine.

After school I planned to head down to the studio. I really wanted to write a song for Travis’s one year memorial for tomorrow. I wonder if the studio would like the idea and actually publish it.
