~Emily’s Mom’s POV

The next morning I got up early and made breakfast for everybody, including Grant and Tim. I went upstairs to wake Emily and Scotty and saw them both snuggled up close in Emily’s bed. I could tell they had started dating because they never used to be this close. Walking over to the Emily’s side I tried waking her first and she didn’t even budge. Alright she gave me no choice they have to get going for Scotty’s homecoming concert. I went back downstairs and obnoxiously ran the dinner bell and that woke everyone, good.

~Emily’s POV

I knew my mom had come in and tried to wake me but I just wanted to stay there in my nice warm bed in Scotty’s arms for as long as possible. Too bad she went and rang that damn bell downstairs. I was already awake but not even that woke Scotty, he must’ve been really tired. I tried tickling him, he let go of me and turned to his other side, groaning. I leaned down and whispered in his ear “Last chance or I get a cup of cold water.” His eyes shot open, “Alright fine, you drive a hard bargain.” He said laughing. We both walked downstairs to the table set and everyone was waiting for us, then we apologized. After breakfast we got ready and Grant drove us down to the stage. Remember that cornfield a couple neighbors up? Yeah they had let the American Idol people put the stage right there, in the middle of their field. Awesome!! Scotty still had no idea who was going to be surprising him a little later.

~Scotty’s POV

I met my mentor back stage and we went over my songs. Basically all of the ones I had performed on the show, just now it was live in front of people at home. I started with Luke Brian’s Crash My Party, then Tyler Farr’s It Goes Like This, then my favorite Josh Turner’s Your Man, and a few others after that. It was about an hour until show time and Em and I were just chilling out back playing a game of go fish with Grant… who ended up winning.

*30 minutes left*

I could hear quite a few people outside and stuck my head out to check and almost the whole field was full, damn I didn’t expect all of Garner to show up. I went back out back and got my mic and ear pieces. I kissed Emily of the cheek and stepped out the second it turned 2pm. The field thundered with people screaming. I sang my first two songs and thanked everybody for their support and just said how amazing it is to be in the top four. I honestly could have never dreamed of it. Just as I started Your Man I was maybe about 30 seconds in and turned around to face the other side of the field. There was a guy next to me. I went to put a hand on his shoulder and then realized who it was. Josh fricken Turner!! I stopped signing and said “Oh My God!” and the whole crowd laughed, how did they know about this and I didn’t? “Wanna finish that song?” he asked after I calmed down a little bit. “After you,” I said, “Nah Mr. American Idol hopeful go right ahead.” They restarted the song and he jumped in right where it goes “Baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low,” the deep voice part, and the whole crowd cheered. Honestly I was smiling from ear to ear.

After the concert I got to officially meet Mr. Turner:

“Hey great performance out there man.” He said to me.

“Thank you so much, it means the world coming from you.” I hope that didn’t sound too sappy.

“No problem man, it was fun trying to hide from cameras and fans for a week, after Julie (Emily’s mom) had told my manager about you on Idol, I came straight here.”

“Oh so it was Julie… sneaky lady that woman is.” I said and he laughed.

“Yes very much so, you have no idea how hard it is to hide and not tweet to my fans for a week.”

“Oh I could only imagine,” and I really could fans are the hardest to hide from because somehow they know your every move, sometimes even before you do. “It gets crazy sometimes doesn’t it?”
