~Bruce’s (Emily’s Dad’s) POV
I understand why Julie was mad at Em for leaving so soon. She and Scotty were gone for over a month, and they came home for only a week. I actually think it was a good choice for them to pick up online courses, instead of dropping out completely. I think she just misses our daughter. Being that she’s now our only child. Yes I am still shaken up about what happened to Travis, but you know what I don’t let it drag me down. I stay happy for Julie, just like how Scotty stayed strong for Emily.
~Grant’s POV
I had picked the kids, well not really kids, up at the airport pickup in Hollywood. I had to get one of the vehicles and Tim stayed behind, to watch after them, while I did so. As always there was a crowd of fans, but some of them were for Brooke too, so the airport had to be extra careful. We were escorted back into another VIP room and then I left to get the car.
I called Scotty to say I was in the pickup line and that Tim will bring their things out first, then both of us will be in to get them to the car. We have to be extra careful because of Scotty and Brooke being two of the top four finalists.
Idol agreed with us security guards that it wouldn’t be the best of ideas to put the contestants back in the same hotel they were in last time, due to the growing amount of fans. Once at our new location, slightly nicer than the other one, we got Scotty and Emily to their room, and then brought up their bags. We were asked to have them at the studio for 5pm, but what we weren’t supposed to mention is that there is a surprise elimination show tonight.
~Scotty’s POV
We got to our new hotel room, Em and I settled in for a bit and waited until it turned 6o’clock, being that it was now 4:32. Emily turned on the TV and sat in front of our bed on the floor. Yes the room still has two beds, but we were only going to use one of them. I agreed on watching two episodes of Duck Dynasty until about 5:30 and then we had to leave for our ‘surprise.’ I’m kinda nervous about it, especially since Grant won’t say anything and he always leaks their secrets.
It came around to 5:30 and Tim came in to get us to go out to the car. Once there we buckled up, as a habit. At the studio we were the last ones there, but still 15 minutes before 6. There were identical cars already parked out front, and weirdly no fans. They’ll be out there by the time we get out.
The Idol people had brought all of us, contestants and families into a medium sized room, with a few tables and chairs and a mini stage at the front. It had a desk with four office chairs behind it so the desk was facing where we were sitting. This already didn’t look good.
~Emily’s POV
Everyone sat down at different tables with their families and our security guards all waited in the back of the room. All of the judges came out without any smiles on their faces.
Female judge 1: “Okay everyone we have all of you here because unfortunately we have been told that Idol is running a little long this year. “
Male judge 1: “What she is trying to say is that we have to have the show ended by this Friday.”
There was a huge gasp throughout the room and everyone was now silent and listening.
Female judge 2: “The judges and I have all talked it over and according to each performer’s votes, the two with the least will be illuminated right now. Except we need to wait for the cameras to get here, so when I say that again act surprised please.”
Male judge 2: “All of you guys are all talented and even if you are sent home tonight we ask that you stay till the winner is announced to perform with them for the final song of the show. Everyone agree?”
