Third person POV

The evening was magical. Every person and creature relished in the excitement they felt now that they were home.

People danced, the sang, they drank, they laughed. They had fun, something they hadn't felt since before the Evil Queens dark curse.

Unsurprisingly, the person who enjoyed the ball the most was Snow White. Her first ball with her daughter had been wonderful. She watched as her true love and her daughter danced together under the twinkling lights that lit up the huge ball room.

She watched as her husband took Killian off to the side and waved his hand, motioning snow  to join them. Snow White walked over to the two men and embraced Killian in a hug, for he was family now.

On the other side of the ballroom, Regina and Robin were dancing away having little giggles every now and again. Robin whispered sweet nothings into his destined love's ear and watched as a blush formed on her cheeks at the compliments.

Zelena was surprisingly making conversation with the dwarfs that she'd made clear previously she couldn't stand. They were laughing to together, which was most unexpected as they had never trusted each other. Maybe it's the fact that everyone is home and they want to let go of their grudges.

Emma was in the centre of the room dancing with her son as they too laughed like they wouldn't laugh again.

The atmosphere was electric. Almost the entire kingdom had turned up to celebrate to homecoming of the Royal family. There was not a single person who didn't have a smile on their face, not a single person who wasn't enjoying themselves.

All barring the person outside the hall. The person waiting for their moment. The person who had every moment of their plan memorised down to the last second.

But more of them later.

Back inside the hall, Henry reminded his mom that she should probably leave to go meet Killian.

Ever since coming back to the enchanted forest Killian had bonded with Henry. They had sailed together and often taken a day out on The Jolly Rodger. Of course, they'd yet to sail away from the docks but they were taking small steps.Killian told Henry stories of baelfire when they sailed together, of course this only further intrigued Henry as he wanted to learn more about his father.

The bond they shared made it easier for Emma to see Killian without feeling bad for leaving Henry. Often, Henry tagged along and they sailed together.

Whilst Emma was walking out of the hall and down to the gardens she thought of the many adventures she would have with the pirate, of every moment they could share as a family.

She eventually found herself in the middle of the gardens waiting for Killian  in the spot that had become their own. It was by the huge duckpond that was mostly filed with swans. The lily pads that bobbed on the top of the water blew around the pond in the wind, a breeze she hadn't noticed before.

A smile crept it's way to Emma's face and she remembered the first bunch of swan lilies she received and how they brightened the place up.

A shadow made a sudden appearance behind Emma. They stood there, only for a moment before they cleared their throat.

Emma froze, this didn't feel like a regular encounter with a villager. No, this felt like bad news.

She slowly turned around, her body twisting at the hips. She looked up to a crooked smile that looked down at her trembling body before a hand was slapped over her mouth from behind and a bag shoved over her head.

It wasn't long before she was unconscious and being dragged out of the gardens in the dead of night.

Not five minutes later, a perky Killian turned up to the gardens. He was at the right spot, he was sure of it.

"Swan, this isn't funny. Come on, come out" he called out around the garden with a playful smile on his face waiting for her to pop out.

But she never did.

The smile quickly left his face and it turned to worry. Frantically, he shouted, calling the name of the woman he loved. He searched in the tall grass and behind anything. He pulled out the swan lilies in an attempt to look for a clue as to where she could be and he did not care how messy the gardens looked.

After coming to the realisation that something bad had come to pass, he pulled his rum bottle from his side and threw it at the nearest wall. It shattered into a thousand pieces. When he realised he had nothing else the throw, he stared down at his hands and fiddled with the ring.

The ring that he had planned to use to propose to his true love, that very night. The ring that meant so much to him with the red stone embedded that he had worn on his pointer finger for three hundred years.

"I will find you, Emma." He spoke gruffly, enclosing the ring in his hand tightly and his fist clenched. "I will always find you."
