Third persons POV

Captain Swan held the blade to his throat, moving closer by half an inch every second he continued to lie.

"I swear it wasn't me, Captain" his body trembled as he stared down death. He knew it was imminent.

"Bullshit, Dawson. I saw you pocket them. Give. It. Up." With each grit of her teeth the force grew stronger, the pinch of the blade slicing into his flesh. "I swear to the heavens if those jewels are not in this hand-" her body never faltered as she opened her hand with her waiting palm. "-in five seconds I will personally remove them from your rotting corpse." Dawson wasted no time in taking them from his pocket and all but throwing them into his Captain's waiting hand.

"I'm sorry Captain" he rushed, eager to avoid death.

Emma lowered her sword, stared at him for a moment before sliding it back into its sheath.

"Don't think this excuses you, Dawson. And though it may appear I forgive you let it be clear that I don't." She turned around and addressed her men. She looked at them all, some avoiding eye contact others  unmoving. In an instant she turned back around and slammed her boot into his gut. She hit with such an impact it sent him flying across the deck, some even say they saw a white light of energy.

"I want him in the brig. No food or water for two weeks, maybe then I'll know what to do with him." She motioned her hand for them to dismiss, two of the more muscular ones dragging Dawson out despite his desperate cries.

He knew he wasn't coming back from that brig.

"Looks like your men do respect you, even after you've been claimed." Emma heard a Deep chuckle behind her and knew it wasn't worth turning around.

"Claimed? Look how well that turned out for you, how's your eye, by the way? Still throbbing?" Her voice was as blunt as a butter knife showing no interest in this conversation.

"I didn't come here to argue with you-"

"So what? You came to shoot sexual remarks at me in front of my crew?" Captain Swan stood at the port side of her ship and stared onto the waiting open waters. As soon as she had enough food she was on her way out of port.

"No, I came to warn you." He showed concern. Why? All she wanted to know was why he was concerned for her. They were a drunken nightcap and nothing more, she'd barely thought of him.

"You come aboard my ship, without an invitation, to speak to me about a warning?" She scoffed. "I get it, the last time three weeks ago was so good that you want a repeat." She still didn't turn around.

"The kings men are looking for you!" He rushed. In a moment, her sword was drawn and pointed at him. "I don't know what you did to anger them but they're closing in on you pretty quick."  She thought for a moment, contemplating her options.

"Men!" She shouted to the crew, instantly getting their attention. "It appears we have a rat among us! Speak now or forever live without a damn tongue!" Everyone was stunned, shocked that one of their own people would snitch on her to the king.

That damn king, King David. And his beloved wife Snow White

Captain Swan had secretly always been jealous of the queen, grew up in a castle with people to wait on her hand and foot. People hanging onto her every word with such respect.

Swan grew up on the dirty grounds of the local village until the age of 15 where she was taken in by a pirate captain that promised adventures and a lifetime of quests, when all it entailed was a life in the brig only to be allowed on deck when ordered to clean. By the time she'd reached the age of 25 she had plotted a way to revolt and run through the captan.

And as you can tell she'd caused so much fear that she'd been their captain ever since.

But why would the king want her? She'd done nothing to the royal family of Misthaven, not yet at least. In seven nights she had planned to steal a valuable possession, a ring. She would use the ring in trade for a bean, a magic bean. Of course from there she'd sail her ship to neverland to defeat Peter Pan and avenge the life of her brother he stole.

But that plan was ruined now the King was on her tail.

"Why do you care anyway? Doesn't the great Captain Hook only think of himself? Are the rumours true, you've gone soft!" She laughed, making the crew laugh too.

"Well after such an amazing nightcap I figured I owed you." He shrugged his shoulders with a smirk and a wink and showed such nonchalance he confused the female captain in front of him.

Truthfully, he had no idea why. He, himself, didn't know why he felt the compelling need to protect Captain Swan. Perhaps he felt they were kindred spirits in a way.

He didn't understand why their drunken encounter was all he could think about or why it felt so familiar. Perhaps they'd already met? No, he knew it was more than that.

Hook in no way wanted the king to capture her - not until he figured this out at least. As soon as he has his emotions in check he's handing her over and taking the ring himself. There's a handsome reward for that thing.

But there was still this nagging voice in the back of his head telling him that he needed her. That in some way she is exactly what he needs, and that it's far more than just a nightcap or drinking partner.

"What are you still doing here?" Her voice broke him from his trance. "Get off my ship unless you want to be a stowaway. As a captain you should know exactly what happens to stowaways" she growled.

"Sorry love." He said quickly before spinning around and taking out four of her men. He kicked the others that followed and fought until they all lay with broken bones or bloody faces.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!" She yelled, drawing her sword and slicing his arm.

He didn't respond, just drew his own sword and held a defensive stance. He pushed her back but never once harmed a single hair on her body.

They clashed and met in the middle.

"Look, I know you don't get it. But I need to figure you out." He grunted.

"You think you know me?" She pushed him off with such a force the white light appeared again.

"I think I want to!" He yelled. Before he could react his eyelids felt heavy. His vision faded and he was on the floor.

Captain Swan stood there for a moment, confused. Until her eyelids too felt heavy and she too was asleep.
