Killian's POV
"Love, are you alright?" I held her hand as we walked through the castle, the charmings had insisted we go somewhere private to talk.
"Can we hang back a bit?" She said quietly, looking around apprehensively. I nodded and slowed our pace so we fell back a few yards.
"Everything alright?"
"Killian. When I wasn't - well me - and I was captain Swan, I did something. Not a good something-"
"Love, whatever you're going to say you did, I can assure you it is nothing worse than anything I've done in my 300 years of life-"
"I killed someone." We stopped walking and I turned to face her. "I know that before you changed you killed many people but I know that's not you anymore! What I'm trying to say is, well, I don't want you to think anything different of me now that you know I killed a man." She rambled, saying anything that came to mind.
I leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, savouring this sweet moment with my love.
"I will never think of you as any less than what you are - a survivor. You did what you needed to do as a pirate captain, I more than anyone understand that. You are an amazing woman, Emma. Don't ever let that moment tell you otherwise." I kissed her soft lips and brought her into my arms.
"Mom, Killian. You really should keep up. We have stuff to talk about!" The lad called from up ahead. Emma let out a soft chuckle and turned to look at him.
"Okay, kid. We'll be there in a minute!" Henry took off again to catch up to his grandparents.
"Don't let this worry you, I love you." I kissed her again before we started walking to catch up with her family.
I held Emma's hand the whole way, listening to her stories as a pirate captain and those in the brig. She detailed her pain, telling me of how they hurt her. The flock, the starvation, the cold. She spoke of how she battled the captain, outmatching him with her abilities with the sword - the skills that I taught her.
Part of me couldn't help but feel proud, that even in her state of pain and exhaustion she managed to be the strong woman that I know she is.
"Emma, I'm sorry you had to go through any of that. I should've known what they were doing to you-"
"How could you have known? Don't blame yourself, you're not the bad guy." She kissed me again.
No matter how many times I kiss her, it won't feel real that I have her back with me. That she is finally in my arms.
God, how I missed her. It felt like I was going insane without her. Like every breathe I took only drove me closer to losing my sanity and falling off the edge into a rum induced depression.
"So, what do you think your parents want?" I asked quickly, realising that I should change the subject. I don't want her to dwell on this experience forever.
"I'm not sure, could be anything really." Emma shrugged her shoulders just as we got to the door of the family room, the charmings stood around looking more anxious than I had ever seen them before.
"Maybe you two should sit down." Snow urged us, gesturing to the couch in the centre of the room. We followed her vague instructions and sat side by side on the sofa.
"There's something you two should know." David spoke, being the only one willing to break the awkward silence that had fallen.
"Is everything alright, dad?" Emma asked, leaning forward on her seat as her way of encouraging her father to continue.
"While you were gone-" he started, ignoring Emma's question. "We got some news. We don't know how you'll react but for your sake and theirs, don't let this stress you out. You do not need to let the stress get to you."
"Mate? What are you going on about? You're not making-"
"Emma's pregnant!"
