Robin's POV

I stood next to Regina, passing her ingredients as she asked for them. She would delicately drop them into the mixture and allow it to settle for a moment before asking for another one and repeating the process.

Regina has barely had any time to breathe with the amount of potions she's been making. No matter how hard I try to tell her that it's okay to take a break it only drives her further into a star of determination.

It breaks my heart to see Regina put herself through all of it. I know how devoted she is to Emma, emma being her best and closest friend, but I do wish she would give herself time to think, let alone breathe. It's all too much for her and I fear she might break.

"Do you think this one will work? It's the fourth one you've tried" I asked her, my voice not going above a whisper in an effort not to startle her.

"I guess we'll have to find out" she said before pouring the blue liquid onto Emma's hairbrush. We waited silently for the object to float, but it didn't.

Regina groaned before picking up her flask and throwing it at a wall.

"I mean this in the nicest way possible, but Robin please leave. I want to be alone" I nodded my head and kissed her cheek. I quickly turned around and left the room, the last thing I saw was Regina leaning over the table with her eyes closed. The stress was clearly getting to her, there's a lot of pressure she's put on herself to find Emma and she hasn't given herself a moment to breathe.

As I was walking down the long hallway of the castle, my arm was grabbed and I was pulled around a corner. I was taken by surprise and ready to fight whoever had grabbed me, but I was relieved to see it was only Hook.

"Hook, you startled me" I said, letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

"Sorry mate. But we need to talk. It's about Emma. I can't wait four months to see her, everyone knows what happened to me when Emma was in New York for a year and I don't ever want to be that man again. I received word from a member of my crew that a villager has claimed to have information on whoever took her. I need you to come with me."

"Why do you need me?" I asked him, confusion clear in my voice.

"Well somebody has to be there to hold me back if this is another hoax" he stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I'm coming with you" we heard a voice say.

We looked to the left and Henry was standing there. Determination was written all over his face making us realise he had heard our conversation.

"It's too dangerous lad" hook told him with the tone of his voice showing there was no room for discussion.

"Dangerous? It's only to the village. I've been there before. And this is my mom, if someone knows something about it then I want to be there."

"Henry, we don't know who this person could be. We're just trying to keep you safe. I'm sorry Henry, but please just go keep your mother company until I get back" I told him, my voice more companionate than hooks, which was too be expected given the circumstances.

"Fine" he grumbled before walking towards the room Regina was in.

"We have to go now before the charmings notice I left their castle." Hook said quickly before taking off in a run to the stables. I followed him, trying my best to keep up with him though I was still a few seconds behind him.

I reminded myself to stop and ask one of the guards to tell Regina we had borrowed a few of her horses. I wouldn't want to imagine the anger she might have if she thought somebody had stolen her horses. Add that the the strain she's under, she might just snap.

And by the time I eventually reached the stables, Hook had already saddled up a horse.

"This will be the first time I've ridden a royal horse with permission" hook stated bluntly while clipping the final part of the saddle onto the horse.

"Me too" I said with a smile. Something about this moment made hook smile. Something he hadn't done since the night Emma went missing. All of us had been on edge around him, we all felt like we were walking on egg shells because everyone knows that Captain Hook had a temper on him on a good day.

And now that Emma's gone, that temper could make its way to the surface at any second.

But as soon as the smile appeared, it was gone. He probably couldn't even begin to be happy with Emma's life in danger.

I hadn't noticed I had been absentmindedly saddling up another horse. I quickly snapped from my thoughts and checked over the saddle to be sure it wouldn't fall off on the ride to the village.

"So, do you even know who we're going to see?" I asked hook as I climbed onto my horse.

"All I know is the village and what the house looks like. That's all smee told me, that and he's on the run from somebody and he plans to move in five days."

We said nothing else to each other and we commanded our horses to gallop. We sped through fields and villages at such a speed everything blurred into a single colour.

When we had eventually arrived at the edge of the village, I was shocked to see what was in front of me. Rather than the cheerful village I had imagined with families running around happy and trading with the local baker, I saw a dull and rundown scape.

Every building either had holes in the roof or cracks in the walls. The only colours i could see where black, grey, brown and white. The grass below us was dead and no sign of any nature blooming any time soon.

"What village is this exactly?" I asked hook as the horses slowly walked on the cracked cobblestone pathways.

"It's official name is Cormoor, but it's residents know it as 'the village of the damned'"he stated.

Before I knew it, Killian was telling me that we were here. I climbed off of the horse and tied the reigns to a post by the cottage as Hook did the same.

"So, what's your plan, captain?" I asked him.

"Who said anything about a plan?" A wicked grin appeared on his face with his eyebrow raised. Hook raised his hand to break down the door before we heard a voice behind us.

"Wait!" We turned around and what we saw shocked us.

"Henry!"
