Chapter 36

Snow's POV

"Someone get me my damn bow and arrow!" The maids and butlers all rushed around the halls, preparing. "I want four guards on watch at all times! You stay alert, you stay awake! You switch on the hour every other hour!" I yelled, buckling my holster and sliding my sword in. "We have two pirate captains in the cells and you're insane if you think their crews aren't coming for them!"

"Snow, you need to relax." My husband came up behind me and wrapped me in his arms. "We have them back and it's only a matter of time until their curse is broken." He placed a soft kiss on my cheek and rested his head.

I took a deep breath before yelling "where the hell is rumplestiltskin!"

I felt his body jump at my sudden yell and could barely hold back my laugh.

"I'm right here!" He giggled before appearing in front of us in a cloud of red smoke. "What can I do you for, dearie?"

"You know what I want. What we all want." I sneered, drawing my sword.

"No need to get testy, of course I know what you want. And I regret to inform you, there's nothing I can do." He feigned sadness and let out an over exaggerated sigh. David drew his sword in response and he too held my defensive stance.

"What do you mean you can't do anything?" It was neither me or my husband who spoke. It was Henry. "After all that we've been through, you must be able to do something!" He stepped in front of us and stood against the dark one.

"And what the hell happened to Emma! That potion is only supposed to make you forget your love. It's not only freed her from whatever cell was holding her but it's turned her to a pirate captain. And I can't be wrong to assume you had something to do with it - with both of them." David spoke, stepping closer to him.

"Well, you would be right!" He giggled and clapped his hands like a child. "Listen, charmings. I'll tell you exactly what I told Emma - saviours aren't meant to run away. It's her duty to protect her kingdom and when she chose to abandon that duty, the universe retaliated. She's gone."

"You bastard! You knew this would happen! You knew this would hurt us and you did it anyway!" Henry yelled, snatching the sword from my hand, lunging it into his chest. A gasp escaped my lips and my hand flung to my mouth.

"Nice try." In an instant the sword disappeared and the dark one stood unharmed. "Now, if you want your charming daughter back, all you need is a fresh batch of the most powerful magic in the world-"

"True love." Henry finished.

"Indeed. I would suggest the other pirate captain you've captured but since he's not really himself either, I guess you're in short supply."

"But what about me!" Henry called just as rumplestiltskin was about to leave.

"What about you?"

"My mom broke the first curse with true love - with me. Why can't I just kiss her forehead like she did mine?" He questioned.

"Didn't you hear me? there's two faults to that plan. First being she doesn't know you. In her head she's a super tough pirate captain who's rebelled against many a royal family. And all you are to her is a prince who she'll no doubtably try to steal from."  He said as he paced up and down. Almost waiting for something.

"And the second thing?"

"Oh right! The second thing. Well, I said a fresh batch of true love. This particular curse is going to take new love. So the affection from her parents or son won't work."

"But hook is her true love!" I yelled at him.

"Well then I suggest they get to know each other." He said, still pacing up and down.

"What are you waiting for?" I asked him, stepping closer. He took a step back in response.

"I'm not waiting for anything, I'm listening." He looked away from me and continued his pacing. Suddenly his face lit up and he stopped pacing.

"What is it? What do you hear? Is it the pirates?" Henry asked, firing many questions.

"Oh no, nothing of the sort. I just hear a heartbeat. With Regina's fascination with hearts I'm shocked she didn't pick up on it sooner. But all in due time!" He laughed before waving his hand and vanishing in his signature red smoke.

Everyone was silent for a while after that. Nobody knew what to say, it didn't feel like there was anything to say. Rumple's statements had only left us with more confusion than before.

"So now what?" David asked.

"I think, we get Emma and Killian to fall in love." I told him. "He took my sword, I've got to go get a new one. I'll be back." I gave my husband a kiss before quickly walking the other direction.

My legs carried me quickly down the empty halls of my home. I had to get my sword and get back to my daughter to figure out what to do.

"Snow White, Snow White!" I heard a small voice call from behind me. Out of instinct, I stopped instantly and spun on my heels to see Roland running towards me.

"Hey buddy, what's up?" I crouched down to his level.

"It's Henry! He's sick!" I wasted no time in scooping him up and running back to where we were before.

"David! Is Henry okay?!" I yelled as I neared him.

"I don't know, he just started throwing up. He's got a temperature. I had a guard carry him up to his room and I'm just waiting for Regina to get here."

"Okay, I'll be up soon. I'll check on Emma and Killian." I put Roland down and kissed my husband.

It was a quiet walk down to the cells but just as I opened the door I was greeted to the sound of someone throwing up.

"Thank god you're here! Anything you're going to do for her?" Killian shouted.

I looked to the left to see Emma hunched over and being sick.
