3rd persons POV

Rumplestiltskin sat in his castle, gazing into the crystal ball. He sat in his elaborately decorated chair at his old dining table and watched as his century long nemesis said goodbye to the family he had grown to love.

A twisted smile appeared on his lips as he watched the pirate leave the castle and mount his horse.

The Dark One hovered his hand over the crystal ball and watched as a small cloud of red smoke covered it. But only for a few seconds because after that, an image of the princess appeared.

She was laying with her head rested on the uncomfortable wooden crates held in the brig. She used them as pillows and curled her body up as tight as she could so that she could hide them under her dress. It all was in a futile attempt to retain any form of heat.

"Finally, my plan is coming together" he laughed to himself.

"Are you talking to yourself again, Rumple?" Belle asked as she walked through the double doors that led to the great hall rumplestiltskin was in.

"Of course, dearie" he laughed again.

"Ever since we returned to the enchanted forest you've gone back to your old ways" Belle mentioned. "You don't pay any attention to anything but that stupid crystal ball. You ignore me almost the entire day. What's next? I don't see you for weeks at a time?"

Belle could no longer hold back the frustration she's been feeling for two months.

"Belle, you know that's not the case" Rumple groaned, still not taking his eyes away from the crystal ball.

"Really? Because it seems that way." Belle turned on her heels and walked back towards the doors.

"Where are you going, Belle?" Finally, Rumplestiltskin looked away from the focus of his attention and towards his wife.

"Somewhere that I'm appreciated. I'm going to go see Snow and Charming" she said before pushing the door open and storming out of the castle.

"Belle! Belle, come back!" Rumple cried, standing from his chair.

He didn't chase after her, he knew her too well - when Belle leaves it means she doesn't want him to follow.

So The Dark One let out a grunt of frustration before slumping back into his chair.

He took a minute to think. He laid back in his chair and allowed his thoughts to consume him. Many angry thoughts clouded his mind, all fighting over one another to be heard.

But his mind went silent when yet another vision of the future became clear.

He saw the final piece to his plan. He knew the outcome and a few of the events to take place before.

Now all he had to do was wait.

Wait to be summoned by the princess and the pirate. Both of them had the same plan, to forget the other.

And neither of them would have had the idea if it wasn't for him.

Rumplestiltskin had been placing the dreams into the subconscious of the two. Of course, varying the events to match their darkest fears. But, nevertheless, the idea was the same.

Hate the one you love. Kill them. Regret it. Wake up.

It's been a very effective method in the past.

And this was no different.

Every night with the same dream was a sure-fire way to throw the two lovers back into the darkness. All Rumplestiltskin wanted was the couple to turn dark and when finally submerged in darkness, he could enact his plan.

All of a sudden, he heard his name. He was being summoned.

"Dark One!" His twisted smile appears on his face before waving his hands and transporting himself to the awaiting pirate.

He materialised in a huge field, filled with pink roses. The vibrant green grass stretched as far as the eye could see. The scape was surrounded by trees that reached the skyline, swaying elegantly in the breeze.

But the beauty of the scene was unappreciated by the dark one because of the man in front of him.

"Took you long enough, captain" Rumple laughed.

"Enough of the jokes, crocodile. The day has come where I need your help" Killian said full of resentment.

"Oh, I told you it would!" Rumplestiltskin laughed. "I don't lie."

"I'm here now, and I know what I want. You probably do too."

Every fibre of the captain's being told him not to trust The Dark One - to leave now. But something told him that this beast would do as he said he would.

"I want to forget Emma" he finally said. "And I need your help to do it."
