Emma's POV
If my math serves me right, it's been two weeks on this damn pirate ship.
Two weeks since I've seen everyone I care about. Every breathe I take hurts more than the last, my heart aches to be with my son and parents and Killian.
Oh god, Killian. I miss him so much. Every second of every day, I want nothing more than to cuddle up to him and cry. I want to breathe in the familiar scent of the sea and his rum. If only I could stop thinking thinking about him, the pain I feel in my heart wouldn't be this strong.
"Get up, captain says we're making port" the first mate said, using his heavy boot to kick my back. I let out a groan as I stood from my position on the floor of the ship.
The first mate pulled on my chains and guided me onto the deck.
"I know I've asked every day these past couple weeks, but is there any chance I could get a bath or something?" I asked him and he tugged on my cuffs.
"Nope" he stated bluntly when we reached the main deck.
"What about if we strike a deal?" I heard the captain say from behind me.
"Who are you? Rumplestiltskin?" I asked him sarcastically.
"If you can beat all of the men on this ship in a sword fight, you can have a bath" he said, ignoring my sarcastic remark.
"Fine. Deal."
As the captain took a sword from a member of his crew, the first mate was unlocking my chains. when the chains were on the floor the sword was thrown at me and I cought it with my left hand.
While the captain told a crew member to take over the wheel while docking, I used the sword to cut off the bottom of my torn and battered ball gown. I cut off the material mid thigh length to give myself enough room to move.
The new length gave the crew a chance to holler and whistle, but I ignored them and focussed on the sword in my hand. A crew member pulled his sword from his sheath and held it in front of my face.
"Want me to go easy on you, princess?" He laughed.
"Wouldn't dream of it!" I laughed before knocking his sword with my own. They clashed and knocked together, taking hit after hit. Eventually I grew tired of the constant back and forth, so I blocked one of his jabs with my sword and we ended up in each other's faces.
"Ready to give up?" He laughed in my face.
"Oh, please!" I laughed sarcastically before using almost all of my strength left to push the muscly man away from me to the point where he staggered. Just as he lost his balance I hit him in the stomach with the hilt of my sword and he fell to the ground. And since I'm with pirates, I took the moment to add a little dramatic flare.
"Trust me, this will hurt" I growled at him before thrusting my sword into his thigh. I held it there for a few seconds before I pulled my sword out of his leg.
I stood tall, and showed no ounce of fatigue on my stance. My sword was still in my left hand, held up in preparation for my next duel.
"Who's next, captain?" A smile was on my face, it was a huge grin that was similar to one of a Cheshire Cat.
"Where did you learn that? That wasn't princess sword fighting at all." The captain asked, shocked by the skills I'd just shown.
"Dating a pirate captain for almost four years has its perks. You don't think he taught me a few things? Now, I repeat my earlier question. Who's next?"
Man after man I fought everyone on the ship. I got in a few cuts as did they. Every man better than the last but I still managed to beat them despite the growing amount of cuts and wounds over my body. One man, I think the captain called him Breslin, managed to create a long cut running down my cheekbone. It stung at first but only drove me further. Another crew member - that was referred to as Bardwell by the skinny guy with rotting teeth - sliced my arm, a huge gash covering almost the entire length of my forearm. And as each cut or graze appeared, I began to wonder if I was truly skilled or running on adrenaline alone.
"I didn't think you'd pass the first man, princess" the captain said from behind me as he pressed his sword against my neck.
"Haven't you learned? Never underestimate me!" I shouted before stepping forward and spinning around as quick as possible, gaining so much momentum that I struck the captain in the shoulder with my sword.
"That's definitely not a pirate move!" A crew member yelled clutching his wrist that I had sliced.
"My fathers a King, you don't think he didn't want me to learn to sword fight?" I laughed as I blocked a jab from the captain. But I didn't have enough time to block the next before he backed me up to the post. My sword had fallen from my grip when I was pushed against the wood. The pain shot through me like a thousand knives as my semi-healed flocking wounds were ripped open.
I let out a loud cry of pain as I felt splinters of wood in my open cuts. The sword was pressed to my throat stopping me from moving. My chest felt tight and I started feeling lightheaded. The pain had never been this bad and I think the dirt of the ship surrounding me has given me an infection.
The captain leaned in close to my face with a huge smirk on his face. My head pressed against the post. I could feel his hot breathe on my lips and I'd never been more repulsed than in that moment,
"No bath for you, princess."
