Chapter 11

Henry's POV

I saw from the corner of my eye that my mom had called Zelena out into the hall, leaving granny and Ruby confused. So I walked over to them.

"Hey, what's that about?" I asked granny.

"I don't know son, but I don't like this feeling." She told me.

"Let's not worry about it, come on Henry. Come and dance with me" Ruby said with a big smile on her face. I bowed in front of her and she curtsied before I took her hand and led her to the dance floor. "It's still really strange that you're taller than me now" Ruby said laughing.

"It's still really weird that I'm here, in the enchanted forest. I never thought I'd be here, even when I was trying to convince everyone that my book was real. I didn't think it would all happen like this."

And it was true. I never imagined that my evil grandmother Cora would try to take over the town with a pirate who would become my moms true love. I never imagined my aunt would be the wicked witch. I never thought I'd go to the underworld to bring back said true love.

"You're a natural Henry, who tought you how to dance?" Ruby asked me.

Just before I could answer, my mom came over and interrupted us.

"I'm sorry to intrude, but Henry you need to come with me" and the tone of her voice told me that it was urgent.

"Alright, mom what's wrong?" I apologised to Ruby before my mom transported us back to her castle in a puff of smoke. The fact that we couldn't just take a carriage like normal meant that something was seriously wrong.

"Henry, I don't want to upset you-"

"I'm almost 18 mom, what ever it is I can handle it." I told her, no matter how old I get she will always see me as a child.

"It's Emma." She took a breathe and placed her hands on my shoulders. The pause she is taking is just making me more nervous. What's wrong with my mom? "She's missing."

"What do you mean she's missing? She went out to meet Killian. He was gonna propose. I-I-I don't understand. Has she been kidnapped?" I couldn't control what I said, it's like everything I thought, I said.

"We think so. Whenever something like this happens, it's normally for a ransom. And we are going to pay whatever they want to get her back. Don't worry Henry, everything will be alright.

I had so many thoughts going through my head at once it was hard to focus on just one.

"Who took her?" Was the question I finally settled on asking.

"We don't know. We will find out when we get the note."

"What note?" It's like there's always more that I don't know.

"The kidnapper always sends a note saying he took her and what he wants as a ransom. We will work this out Henry" my mom said before opening her arms and pulling me in for a hug.

It wasn't until the moment I was in my moms embrace that I broke down and let tears fall.

"So why did you bring me back here?" I asked through my tears.

"You could've also been a target. I mean you'd be quite high ransom, considering who your family is" my mom said, trying to be comforting and it worked. But only for a moment and then I was back to crying. "But we will get her back" she told me definitively.
