Chapter 16

Alex's POV =)

I woke up to the sound of waves crashing onto the sound and I checked the time on my Ipod because I didn't want to wastemy phone battery. 5am. I rolled over to see Luke still asleep and I kicked one of the quilts off of me because it's really
hot in this tent. I looked over to see if Luke was still sleeping and he was, so I took off my pants and my jumper because I was going to die of heat exhaustion. I pulled the quilt back over and then I heard Luke roll over.

"Why are you awake so early?" he asked and I pulled the covers higher over me.

"Because its hot and I couldn't sleep" I replied.

"They need to like invent air condintinors for tents or something like that" Luke said which made me laugh.

"They should or we should have bought a portable fan with us or something" I said and Luke smiled. His hair was messy and all in his face and every once and a while he would sweep it out of his face.

"If you are so hot, why do you have a quilt over you?" Luke asked and I went bright red.

"Um er because um" I began stil bright red and Luke's eyes widended and he smirked.

"Are you in your underwear?" he asked and I groaned.

"I thought you were sleeping!" I protested and Luke started laughing.

"I don't mind" Luke said with a wink and I punched him lightly on the arm and I kept the covers over me while I grabbed an over sized top from my bag. I put it on and smirked at Luke and he pouted.

"Sometimes you can be such a perv" I said and Luke rolled his eyes. I lay back down next to Luke who took my hand in his.

"You have really small hands" he said and I smiled.

"I know I do".

"It's cute" he said kissing my cheek and I smiled. 

"You are cute" I said smiling and Luke smiled. We lay like that for a while, just saying random things before I started to smell food outside. 

"Do you smell food, because I do" Luke said sitting up and I nodded, laughing. I grabbed a pair of pink short PJ bottoms and chucked them on and then Luke and I both went outside.

"Who's cooking?" I asked walking over.

"ME!" Ashton exclaimed and I laughed. I sat down next to Bec who look like she had a rough night.

"Jezz Bec, how are you feeling?" I asked with a wink and she groaned.

"Never ever do it in a tent ok, it hurts like hell" she said and I laughed.

"Oh I know, Luke and I heard you and Ashton last night". Bec's blue eyes widned in horror and I started laughing.

"Oh shit did you really?" she asked and I nodded laughing. Luke came over and raised his eyebrow at Bec who groaned and went bright red.

"Yeah could you two please be more quiet, Alex and I wanted to sleep" Luke said and I laughed. Ashton wasn't paying any attention to this conversation at all which made it even funnier.

"Breakfast won't be ready for another 10 minutes" Ashton said so I left to go and get dressed. I went and put on my blue and white striped bikini, my 'Too Sassy For You' whie tank, light was denim high waisted shorts and silver thongs (flip flops omg). I put my hair in a messy high pony tail and then walked back out to where everyone was eating breakfast.

"MORNING ALLY!" Calum yelled and I smiled. Calum and I are really close, probably because we used to play soccer together a lot when I lived in Sydney and went to school here but also because I can tell him anything and he won't tell anyone.

"MORNING CAL!" I said getting myself some breakfast and sitting down next to him and Luke.

"So um did anyone else hear Ashton and Bec getting it on last night?" Adriana asked and everyone started laughing. Except for Bec and Ashton.

"I think everyone did" Luke said laughing and Ashton put the finger up at him.

"Were we really that loud?" Ashton asked and everyone nodded.

"Sorry not sorry" Bec said and I laughed.

"Just please don't do it again with us around" Michael said with a disgusted look on his face.

"Yeah yeah whatever" Bec said rolling her eyes and everyone went back to eating.

"So what are we doing today?" I asked once we had finished breakfast.

"Surfing" Adriana said and I cheered.

"Does anyone actually know how to surf?" I asked and everyone said no except for Calum. I remember teaching him when we were both 15, he is actually really good.

"Well then guess we are going to have to teach all of you" Calum said and I laughed.

"Maybe I don't want to" Bec said and I smirked. 

"Yeah probably because you can't stand up" I said smirking and everyone laughed. 

"OH MY GOD ALLY THAT WAS GREAT!" Maria exclaimed high fiving me and I laughed. 

"I fucking hate you" Bec said to me and I rolled my eyes. 

"Of course you do". 

"Did anyone actually bring surfboards apart from Alex and I?" Calum asked changing the subject. 

"Guess it's just you and me then Hood" I said and he laughed. 

"Do you wanna go out now?" he asked and I nodded.

"I'll see you later Luke" I said grabbing my surfboard and I kissed his cheek. Luke smiled and I headed towards the beach with Calum. 

We left out clothes and shoes on the beach and quickly waxed our boards. 

While we waited for a good set to come in Calum and I started talking. 

"Luke really really likes you" he said and I blushed smiling. 

"After your first date we hung out the day afterwards and he wouldn't stop talking about you and how cute you are" Calum said and I laughed. 

"You and Maria are pretty cute" I said and Calum grinned. 

"I love her so much" he said and I smiled. 

"I know you do" I said and Calum laughed. 

"I remember in about year 10 just after Luke and Aleisha broke up he told us that he liked you but he was so awkward about it". 

"It hurt seeing him with Aleisha" I said quietly but I know Calum heard me. 

"We all knew how much it hurt you, even with you being in Adelaide". It was fair to say Aleisha was a bitch to me. She knew that I liked Luke and she told me how ugly and worthless I was and I believed her. 

"She was horrible to me and I have no idea why" I said and Calum sighed. 

"She knew that Luke liked you and she knew that he would never love her like he loves you so she put you through hell hoping Luke would see how broken you are but it didn't work at all, Luke still liked you and even though he liked Aleisha he knew that he needed you" Calum said and I smiled.

"Luke needed me?" I asked and Calum nodded. 

"He was broken when you and Josh started dating". 

"Hold on, I thought he didn't know?" I asked. 

"Oh he did". 

"I never knew that Luke liked me until last month" I said and Calum laughed. 

"Luke has always liked you, everyone knew that" Calum said and then I good set rolled in. I didn't reply to him and I went out to surf. 

When I surfed it was my way of getting free. Luke sings to get free. I surf. 

Calum and I ended up staying out there for ages until it started to rain. 

"I thought it was Summer?" I asked Calum as we started paddling into the shore. He laughed and we grabbed our clothes and stuff and headed back up to the tents. 

I quickly dried off and put my hair in a bun to keep it out of my face. 

"You guys were out there for ages!" Bec exclaimed as I put my clothes back on. 

"It was a really good set out there" Calum said and I nodded in agreement. As soon as he said that it started to pour down and we all ran to our tents. I closed the door as soon as Luke came in and I put on a jumper and got underneath the quilts. 

Luke's POV =) 

"Are you warm enough?" I asked Alex and she nodded leaning against my body. 

"Are you ok, you seem a bit distance?" she asked me and I shrugged my shoulders. 

"Do you like Calum?" I blurted out and she started to laugh. 

"Oh Luke you are silly sometimes, Calum is my friend and besides I have you!" Alex said kissing my cheek and I smiled and pulled her onto my lap. 

"Oh good" I said smiling and I pulled my phone out and she groaned.

"No Luke, no photos today" Alex pleaded. 

"But Ally you promised' I whined and she sighed in defeat. Score 1 for Luke Hemmings! 

"Fine but these go no where, I look horrible" Alex said and I rolled my eyes. 

"You look fine" I said quickly kissing her lips and snapping a photo. 

"You cheeky bastard!" she squealed and I laughed. I took heaps of photos, most of them we were pulling ridiculous faces in them. 

"Hey babe, what do you want for Christmas?" I asked Alex and she went into deep thought. 

"I honestly have no idea" she said. 

"Really?" I asked and she nodded. 

"I would like to see my Dad again but that's hard when he is in England and you are in Australia" Alex said and I could see that she was trying not to cry. 

"Oh Ally" I said pulling her into me and kissing her head. 

"It's really hard Luke and I hate it, I hate that fact that my parents are divorced and that they fight all the time" she said looking at me and I could see that she might break. I was about to break looking at her.

"I'm sorry". 

"Why are you sorry?" she asked quietly. 

"That I can't do anything to help you" I said and Alex sighed. 

"You being here is helping me Luke". 

"Really?" I asked a little bit surprised and she nodded with a little grin. 

"Most people don't want to listen to my problems but you are one of the only ones that do" she said and I smiled.

"Well you mean so much to me and I want to make you happy" I said kissing her cheek and she rested her head on my chest. 

"What do you want for Christmas?" Alex asked and I laughed. 

"Honestly I need some new clothes" I said and she giggled. 

"That can be arranged". 

"But nothing to preppy or shit like that, you know my style". Alex nodded and I smiled. 

"I'll buy you some crocs" Alex said giggling and I laughed.

"You do that" I said and she laughed even more. 

"Oh I will" Alex said with a smirk and I smiled kissing her cheek. 

"Maybe I'll buy you a cat". 

"No I already have Belle". 

"But didn't you say for your birthday that you wanted a cat?" I asked with a confused face. 

"Yeah, I was joking" Alex said laughing. 

"Oh my god what is wrong with you?" I asked. 

"One time in year 5, I jokingly said that I wanted a fish and a girl that I used to be friends with bought me a fish" Alex said laughing her head off( THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME) 

"I remember that, man it was so awkward". 

"I know, I had to sell that fish tank and stuff in a garage sale". I laughed and then we fell silent. I could feel Alex's hand beside mine and I took it in mine. 

When you get to really know someone, you learn everything about them. Like how Alex hates her parents being divorced even though she covers it up all the time by her carefree attitude. 

She is a little broken inside. But then again, everyone is a little broken inside. 

And that's ok.
