Alex's POV
The boys leave today, along with Bec, Adriana and Maria. I wasn't too sure if I should go to the airport, because of my situation with Luke but I still wanted to see the other boys and the girls before they leave. I have not seen or spoken to Luke since this time last week, and it's killing me. I always knew it was going to be difficult for us him being away but I never knew he was going to end things with me.
I checked my phone to see if I had any texts from Luke and not surprisingly, there were none. I sighed and got out of bed. I went to have a shower and get ready for the day, dressing warmly since it was freezing outside. As I walked back in my bedroom, my phone buzzed and I checked to see who had messaged me and to no surprise, it was Bec.
From: Bec - Hey, are you coming to the airport today?
To: Bec- I don't know if I should....
From: Bec- Honestly don't worry about Luke, everyone else wants to see you before we leave.
I smiled when I read that, knowing that even when Luke and I were over, the boys still wanted to see me before they went.
To: Bec- Yeah sure ok, what time is your flight?
From: Bec- 10:30pm.
To: Bec- Ok I will see you at 10 then.
I headed downstairs to make myself breakfast, to find Will and Rosie sitting at the kitchen table sitting with cups of coffee. They both got so lucky with each other, they are complete opposites but they work so well together. They have a bond, that will probably never be broken. They treat each other with the utmost respect and kindness, they both got extremely lucky finding each other.
"Morning Ally" Rosie said adjusting her reading glasses. Rosie is studying medicine at university, whilst Will is on the rookie list for the Sydney Swans AFL team and is working at a pub.
"Morning guys" I said making myself a cup of tea and a piece of toast.
"Are you going to say goodbye to Luke?" Will asked and Rosie flicked his cheek.
"Wow way to be blunt William" she said and I gave them a small smile.
"I am going to the airport, but not for Luke".
"Sure you aren't" Will said and I rolled my eyes.
"He broke up with me and he hasn't spoken to me in a week, that is a message in itself" I said buttering my toast. Will and Rosie nodded in agreement as I headed upstairs to work on an essay. I decided to switch my degree to Journalism and Marketing, as I enjoy writing more than anything. I am still rowing and hanging out with Jordan, Harry, Emma and Eboni but I just didn't enjoy what I was studying anymore.
I continued working on my essay throughout the day, only really stopping to get food, reply to any emails or messages and go to the bathroom. As the clock hit 7:30, I saw out of my window Luke leaving to go the airport. He looked so tired and worn out, exactly how I looked and felt. I put my head back down to continue my essay for a little while longer, but as he was leaving I could feel his eyes trying to spot me through the window.
As the clock hit 8:30, I closed my laptop and grabbed my keys to leave. I said goodbye to Will, Rosie and my Mum as I left who all gave me a sad smile as they knew what I was walking into. I shuffled my phone and got going, as the airport was fair drive from my house.
I don't know how I am supposed to act around Luke, there has never been a period in either of our lives that we have not been talking. We grew up together, our Mums were best friends when they were teenagers and they still are. Most of my fondest memories involve Luke and the boys. Endless parties when I came home from Adelaide for the holidays, watching them grow into the band they are today, days spent at the beach just the eight of us. These memories consumed me, to the point of almost tears. I am so unsure what I am going to do with my life now that my seven best friends are away for so long.
