*Alex POV*

Here we are on a cool December night, about to go Christmas shopping. The children starting to teethe, now three months old. Because of their werewolf genetics, they were already crawling and are trying to pick things off the shelves.

"No Xavier!" I mildly scolded, grabbing the book he picked up and placing it back before he got a chance to slobber all over it. Cameron and I split up so we could get each other's gifts. He took Greyson and Jonathan, while I had Scarlett and Xavier. Scarlett had already fell asleep, so I placed her car seat in the cart. Xavier is one rambunctious child, let me tell you.

I decided to buy some baby food, since I thought they were old enough and could probably eat it. I walked over to the display and started eyeing the cans.

What should I buy?

I ended up picking bananas, sweet peas, apples and pears, peaches, and apple sauce and gently placed them in the cart, afraid to wake up Scarlett. Xavier started clapping his hands and cooing. "Are you my hungry little boy?" I cooed.

"Bbbmmbbmnbbm!" he replied, making those adorable baby noises, making me chuckle.

"It's time to buy daddy's Christmas present!" I exclaimed, excited for our first Christmas together. I quickly found the present I was looking for and put it in the cart, careful to hide it so Cam couldn't see it.

I bought some books, wine, and chocolate before the candy was gone, because of the upcoming after Christmas sale. I went to the checkout and paid for my things.

Many people were doing their late Christmas shopping, but one person caught my eye. She was about my age, maybe a little older, with two children, one on her hip and the other in the cart. "No, no, no!! Please work!" she pleaded, talking to the machine that wouldn't take her credit card.

I walked over and swiped my credit card in the machine and it worked. "You didn't have to do that." She explained, obviously grateful for my action.

"Yes, actually I did. You and your family should have a nice Christmas." I soothed. She grabbed her things and placed them in the cart. "You have beautiful children." I commented, looking at the blonde hair, blue eyed twins.

"Thanks. You too. How many do you have? Or is it just the two?" she pointed out.

I chuckled, "I have four. All the same age. They were quadruplets." She had a look of shock on her face.

"Wow. I would never be able to handle it." She commented.

"I'm Alexis." I stated.

"Leah." She replied. "I can't thank you enough. Really, I'm truly thankful."

"Don't mention it." I shrugged.

"Do you want to meet up for lunch sometime? It's on me." She inquired.

"Sure. Let me give you my number." I wrote down my number on a scrap sheet of paper and I handed it to her. I could really use a friend.

"I'll call you sometime." She stated, about to depart.

"Alright!" I yelled back and headed out to the parking lot and was shocked at what I saw.
