Chapter 19

Wednesday, September 3rd 3:40pm
Today went pretty much like yesterday except Josh was here today, he was a little distant but I figured he just didn't feel like being lively and socializing with anybody. Camila guessed I was the captain of the volleyball team. I gave her her tickets early so I wouldn't forget to. We had a light practice today and a short band practice, to work on the setlist for Friday's concert. Once I got home I took a shower, ate something and laid in my bed watching a movie, my phone buzzed.

Thursday, September 4th 8:40am
Lauren arrives at school after her daily routine and was greeted by her friends but Josh was nowhere to be seen. "Hey have you guys seen Josh?" "Last time I saw him he was at his locker talking to some girl." Anne stated cautiously unsure of how Lauren would react to that. "Alright I'll see you guys later." The green eyed girl stated before making her way to her boyfriends locker. "That dudes a freaking jerk, I mean he's cool friend wise but as far as a boyfriend I don't see what Laur sees in him." Anne comments once Lauren is out of sight "Yeah I agree, he's not right for her. I always see him talking to other girls but I don't wanna ruin Laur's relationship on suspicion." Calum stated "He'll slip up sooner or later and do something stupid, then Laur will dump him and then he'll realize that he lost the best thing in his pathetic little life." Ashton added in before getting up.

Lauren rounded the corner to Josh's locker and sure enough she found him leaning against the wall, talking to some girl. She walked over to him hoping to catch a little of what they were talking about but failed, Josh turned to face her and the other girl walked away. "Hey babe." Josh greets her, kissing her on the cheek. "Hey, who was that?" Lauren questioned, slightly raising one of her eyebrows "O-oh just some girl from class that I needed to get notes from." Josh uttered nervously, which didn't convince Lauren that he was being honest but she let it go. He walked her to class before giving her a quick peck on the lips and heading to his own.

Lunch came around and Josh was nowhere to be found and when Lauren texted him, he told her he was making up his missed work. She didn't really argue with that because she knew he needed to catch up on the days he missed from his illness. She enjoyed lunch with her best friends as usual.

"Oh hey Laur there is this party on Saturday at that kid Luke's house, he wanted us to play a few songs and he's willing to pay us a hundred each. You down?" Ashton asked her "Yeah of course, that's easy money." "Yeah plus I'm sure your boy toy will be there, it is his football buddy's party after all." Lauren thought over the fact that Josh hadn't mentioned it to her when he usually does she found it strange but she decided to let it slide and she would also let it slip her mind to tell him she would be attending. He was acting strange recently and she intended to find out why, but for now she'd act like everything was fine.

After Lauren informed Camila that she had guessed wrong, she started getting herself in the mindset she needed to be in for the game. Meanwhile Camila was texting Dinah as her class watched a video

The game started and during the first set NMH didn't make the first win easy for Miami Beach High School. MBH came away winning all three sets and they told each player of the other team good game before heading to the locker room to change. When Lauren re-entered the gym she spotted Camila and started walking towards her until she heard someone call her name from her left causing her to stop in her tracks. "Good game Laur!" Lauren recognized that voice Ally she thought before turning to the source and finding that her ears were hearing correctly "Oh my gosh, Ally!" She ran and embraced her cousin in a tight hug "I missed you so much Allycat!" Lauren held her tightly afraid that if she let go, she wouldn't really be there. "I missed you too Laur, you did great out there!" Lauren finally released Ally and walked over to Camila. "Ms. Cabello, this is my cousin Ally, Ally this is my teacher Ms. Cabello. I assume these are your best friends that wanted to meet me?" Lauren introduced "Nice to meet you Ally." Camila shook her hand before continuing "This is Dinah and Normani." They all shook hands and got a little acquainted before agreeing to see each other tomorrow "I can't wait to watch you perform tomorrow Lauren, I guess we'll see you then. Goodnight guys." "Goodnight Dinah, Normani, Ms. Cabello, see you guys tomorrow."

After Ally and Lauren arrived home and had dinner with everyone, the two went to Lauren's room. "So your teacher seems pretty cool." "Yeah she is I guess, she's not too much older than us. She's twenty-two." Ally saw how Camila looked at Lauren and wondered if anything was going on between them "She seems to like you.." Lauren shrugged "Like crushing on you, like." It didn't faze Lauren at this point "You wouldn't be the first person to say that, the guys say the same thing." Ally decided to push a little further "Ahh I see, well would you ever date her? She seems very fond of you." Lauren shrugged once again, distracted by trying to put together both of her outfits for tomorrow "I don't know. I mean she's my teacher, plus I have a boyfriend and I don't even think I'm into girls. I've only ever been attracted to guys."
