Summer

Lauren's POV

My Junior year of high school just ended, on a pretty good note too if I must say so myself. The whole year sports wise was going great for the teams I played on. In basketball we made it to the last round of the state playoffs and we were only down by five points in the end. In soccer we made it to the second round of the state championship and that's good considering we play the hardest conference in the state. In volleyball we won majority of our games although not enough to make it into the tournament, still better than last year though. Last but not least we were ranked number one in the state in lacrosse and we ended up winning the championship! Three months before school let out for the summer I got asked out by THE quarterback and star point guard Josh Cuthbert. I could not lie the guy was down right gorgeous, we had been talking for a few weeks but I had no clue he was actually into me. People were saying that it was so cool that we were both the star point guards and captains for the basketball team, they were calling us the couple to be. Being with Josh definitely turned me into a social butterfly fly but I still kept a small circle of three best friends that I knew I could count on. Ashton Irwin and Calum hood weren't just my best friends but they were also my band mates in our band "The Wanting" . I met them freshman year during summer basketball workouts and we've been inseparable since. My third best friend, Anne Marie and I met during lacrosse tryouts freshman year and we ended having 3 of our classes together so we were stuck with each other and it's been that way ever since. It's the summer before my senior year and I was quite literally in sports camps the entire break, which is my fault because Im the one who decided to play four sports all through high school. When I had time I wrote songs for the band because I knew our fans were expecting some new material soon. I barely got to see my best friends but we tried to meet up at least once a week or once every two weeks to practice the songs that I had finished in my spare time, which was only like two or three because Im always super busy. I didn't see my boyfriend at all during the summer because he was in camps for his sports as well and when his camps ended I found some time to text or FaceTime him when I had a break.

Yesterday was my last day of camp and tomorrow was the first day back to school. Despite not missing the homework and drama of high school I missed seeing my friends everyday and seeing my boyfriend. I guess there was a plus to school after all but still the only things that kept me sane in that place was sports and the four people I cared for.
