Chapter 29

Saturday, October 11th 9:30am
I wake up and once I open my eyes my retinas immediately burn causing me to squint my eyes do to the sun shining brightly. Once my eyes adjust I grab my phone and smile as soon as I see Camila's name on the screen.

While I waited for a reply I got up, did my ab workout and then my usual jog. Once I returned home my parents were standing in the kitchen preparing breakfast together with music filling the house. "Ah hola mija" "Morning dad." I replied before planting a chaste kiss on his cheek and turning to do the same to my mom "Morning mom."

"Morning babygirl, how was your jog?"

"It was good, I just wish I had gotten earlier to do it. The sun was beaming out there." I shook my head in disapproval of the heat I just endured

"I understand that, I should go out with you one day soon. I made your protein shake for you though it's in the fridge."

"Thanks mama."

"What do you want for breakfast?"

A cheat day wouldn't hurt right? I thought before answering my mom "Umm fruit salad, pancakes, bacon and eggs." My mom nodded in approval before I continued "I'm gonna go shower."

"Alright sweetie, I'll call you when it's ready." I turned and headed up the stairs and checked my phone to see Camila had texted me.

Just finished eating, about to get dressed.

I went and took my shower and got dressed then I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. When I walked in I was greeted by a delicious smell and laughter. Ally was sitting at the counter talking with my mom as she flipped the pancakes, while my dad was cooking the eggs.

"Yeah college is both tiring and fun." Ally stated "I believe it- oh honey I haven't made your fruit salad yet."

I waved my mom off "It's alright I'll do it mom, morning sunshine!"

"Morning Laur, can you make me one too?"

"Sure, anyone else want one?"

"No thanks." My mom and dad say in unison."As long as you stay on top of your work, it's not that bad is it?" My mom resumes her conversation with Ally, "No, it's not but sometimes you get a buttload of work from one class and it's torturous."

I tune them out after that as I began to rinse and cut the fruit in two separate bowls for Ally and I. All of a sudden my song came on and my dad grabbed my hand and started dancing with me, I couldn't help the giggles that fell from my lips. "Dad you're gonna burn the eggs!"

"They're already on the plates mija, now dance with me!" So I did and I could hear Ally and mom laughing before my mom cut in thank goodness I had no energy from my run. I finished the pancakes and placed them on the plates with the bacon and eggs while Ally set the table and poured juice for everyone. As we all sat down at the table my phone buzzed and Ally who was sat beside me, gave me a knowing look with a smirk. I pulled out and read it
