Chapter 27

Lauren's POV

Tuesday, September 30th, 8:00am
I was starting to go insane with the thought of whether Camila was flirting with me or not, it's literally all I thought about Monday. If I myself wasn't feeling something towards her I'd say the possibility was absolutely ridiculous but since I've managed to like a girl, who just so happens to be my teacher, then I suppose it's possible for her to like me back... Right? Screw this guessing game crap I'm just going to grow some figurative balls and ask, at least that way I'll know. Here goes nothing...

Hey I have a question & it's one that you have to answer..

While I waited for a reply, I went ahead and went through the remainder of my routine. It was 8:40am and she still hadn't replied, so I headed to school. As soon as I sit in my seat my phone buzzes, and I pull it out to see who it was. Camila.

Do you, um, have a crush on me?

8:55 is about to roll around which means the bell is about to ring and Camila still hasn't replied to me. One or two things has happened, either I have now made our conversation super awkward or she's hesitant to answer my question for some reason and I'm hoping for the latter. The bell rings and a minute later my phone finally buzzes

Well you've been very flirty lately & last I checked, teachers aren't supposed to flirt w/ students. Don't worry I'm not asking to get you in trouble, I'm genuinely wondering..

To be completely honest then, yes... @ this point I've passed the crush stage though, I know I like you for sure. I understand if you think it's weird & you don't want to talk to me anymore after this...

As soon as I read that text message, I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Well to be honest w/ you in return, it's super weird & I never want to talk to you again... I'm just kidding. No but seriously I've developed a crush on you, so no judgement here. I guess you know this complicates things... Severely.

That went better than I expected and now I can't wait for lunch to come around but I'm also nervous.

No POV

Lunch rolled around and as they agreed they met in Camila's classroom. "Hi." Camila started the conversation trying to keep her nerves together, Lauren was having the same problem but was better at hiding it. "Hey." They made eye contact before they both placed their attention on the white tiled floors. After a few seconds of silence Camila broke the ice "So we like each other?" "Yeah. How long have you been into me? You said it was more than crush for you at this point." Lauren wasn't sure why that information was important to her but her curiosity got the better of her, her crush on Camila was recent but what if the boys were right about her teacher's crush on her all along. "Never, I have no idea what you're talking about." Camila found a way to lighten the mood with her sarcasm and it worked because her and the green-eyed girl softly giggled, Lauren added a playful eye roll. "I'm kidding. This may sound a bit cliché but literally the first day of school when I walked into class late and when I looked around the room at every face in the class, none of them caught my eye but when I laid eyes on you, something clicked." Lauren couldn't help but laugh at Camila's confession, making the older girl look at her funny "Yeah that does sound a bit cliché" the younger girl managed to get out between laughs, her teacher glared at her and huffed out air to feign offense "Blah blah, just hush" their giggles reverberate through the room until they pull themselves together. "So what exactly do we do about this? You could get fired and possibly arrested if we capitalize on this. Are you really willing to risk all that for me?" Lauren suddenly started to worry like a switch had been flipped on in her brain but Camila somehow eased her thoughts "Well considering I've never felt like this before and certainly not from first glance, yes I'm willing to risk that for you. As far as what we do, we take things slow, we make sure we keep it secret and we act like we usually act." Lauren was a little shocked by how calm Camila was. "So we're really doing this?" " Yeah beautiful, we're really doing this... Unless of course you don't want to.." Camila's features slightly fell at the thought of not being given the chance to try things with the girl who made her feel things she's never felt, said girl noticed this and quickly spoke "No I do, I do. I'm just making sure." The brown-eyed girl's mood changed in an instant and her earlier worry quickly vanished. "It's not official yet though, not until we go on a date. So what do you say, go on a date with me?" An infectious smile spread across Lauren's face, reaching her eyes "Of course I will" the bell rang at that moment and had to cut the conversation short "We'll continue this later."

Lauren and Camila start texting a lot more than they already did but not only that they became flirtier. Every time the porcelain skinned girl received a text from Camila she had trouble containing her grin around her best friends and Ally. Camila planned out her date with the help of Dinah and Normani, she wanted everything to be perfect like the girl who agreed to go on a date with her. Neither girl had been able to pick a date for it to happen yet though, considering that Lauren had three games this week and two games next week. Not to mention band practice which always happens right after volleyball practice. 

Tuesday, October 7th 8:00am
There were no volleyball game this week and Ashton had to leave town on Thursday to attend his cousin's wedding in Pennsylvania, which meant there was no band practice Friday and there was short practice for volleyball that day.
