Chapter 20

I woke up to the aroma of pancakes and coffee flying through the air. The sun was beaming through the curtains and onto my face. I rubbed the sleep away from my face and got up from the comfortable couch. I folded my blankets and set them inside the closet of blankets in the front hallway.

I walked into the kitchen to see Kiké making coffee while Mariana was flipping the pancakes.

"Good morning Alani." Kiké said walking over to me and hugging me. We hugged for what seemed like forever and I didn't mind. It was actually just what I needed.

I needed a hug from Corey. I wanted to be in his arms. Finally Kiké let go and gave me a kiss on the top of my head. "You can stay as long as you need to okay. We're here for you sis." he said

I couldn't rely on my words so I just simply noded. I said my good mornings to Mariana and told them I was going to wash up in the guest bathroom.

I grabbed some lounging clothes and entered the shower. I stood in the shower for what seemed like forever. I finally realised it was time for me to get out because my fingers were becoming pruny.

I was in clothes and my hair was freshly brushed. I was making my way down the stairs when I heard multiple voices below. I stopped and tried to hear what was being said.

"Where the hell is she?" a voice belonging to Corey. "Dude chill okay." Crystal said sounding annoyed.

I walked downstairs slowly and caught everyone's attention. When I say everyone, I really meant everyone. There was Corey, Joc, Trayce, Crystal, Layla, Kiké, Mariana, Justin, Kourtney, and Jose.

"Hey guys." I said breaking up the silence. Everyone turned their neck towards me and Corey just looked at me.

¨Hey? Really just hey? Did you not think about giving me a call or anything?¨ Corey said sounding pissed.

¨Corey leave her alone already." Layla said starting to get irritated at Corey.

¨Why are you only thinking about yourself? Do you know how bad I did at the games because you couldn even text me back. Did you not think about how I felt? Why aren't you saying anything." he was now yelling at this point.

¨Corey shut the hell up! You sound like the selfish person right now. Have you even asked how she feels? Have you asked how her doctor's appointment went? You sound like the fucking selfish person right now!" Crystal said now in his face.

I was now in tears because everything was falling apart now.

¨Look she is crying now! You are so inconsiderate dude. Tell him already Alani, make this asshole feel like a dick because he is acting like one." Layla said.

¨Tell me what? What is going on?¨ he asked now getting worried. He walked towards me and went to caress my face with his hands but I moved my face away from him.

¨Babe why are you doing this?¨ he asked looking at me in the eyes.

¨Alani whats going on?¨ Joc asked from across the room.

I looked Corey in the eyes and just started crying. My lips quivered as my tears strolled down my face. He looked at as worry washed over his face?

¨I have cancer, breast cancer." I said bursting into tears and sliding my body down the wall. I buried my head into my legs avoiding to see Coreyś reaction.

¨You asshole! This whole time you were calling her selfish and now look. That day she left you made her feel like crap." Trayce yelled at Corey.

I looked up and Corey was just staring at me. He didn't say anything, he just stared at me. There was this look in his eyes that I have never seen before and I didn't like it.
