'Are you ready?' Mex asked. 'If we leave now, we will have a lot more day light.'  'Just a sec.!' Christopher said. 'Let me finish this pancake first! A hero can't march into battle on an empty stomach!' 'In that case, why do you need to finish that pancake?' Mex said kidding. 'I already packed us some food. So whenever this so called 'hero' is getting hungry, i'm well stocked!' 'That's just great.' Christopher seemed a little sad. 'Cheer up!' Mex said. 'This is just a... Minor complication. I'm sure we can handle this in no time!' He playfully punched Christopher against his arm. But secretly wanted to leave as soon as possible. He knew that Queenly wouldn't do any harm to Lisai. But he didn't want to take any risk. 'I'm all done!' Christopher shouted. He, somehow proud, put his fork and knife back on the plate. 'Are you sure you don't want to have a nice bite of 'chair' before we leave?' Mex did a last check for supplies. 'I.. I'm not that hungry, Mex.' Christopher started to blush. 'Soo..' Mex said impatiently. 'Are we going?' 'Yes sir!' Christopher shouted. 'Just lead the way!' He tried to pick up his sword with grace, but he seemed to be troubled with carrying the thing around. 'Christopher,' Mex said. 'If I may be so bold... Why do you carry that sword around in the first place? It doesn't.. Ehm.. Seem to be a good weapon for you.' 'Nonesense!' Christopher smiled nervously. ''Queenly gave it to me for my 15th birthday, she said that if I carried this around, I would be a strong warrior in no time!' 'And.. Was she right?' Christopher stood still. Mex could tell from just looking at him, that his brain was working over hours. 'Well.. No.. Not yet.. But.. Maybe some day?' '...' Mex stared at him. 'What if would carry it around? So you can... Walk ahead? And explore the path in front of us? I really could use someone like that!' 'Well...' Christopher seemed emberassed. 'Okay, but if I lose it Queenly will lose her mind!' 'It's safe with me.' 'Okay Mex, I trust you.' Mex smiled, and nodded. Without any trouble he took the sword from the ground, and they could finally start their journey.

'It's safe ahead Mex!' Christopher shouted. 'Geez... You're not 2 feet away from me. There is no need to shout buddy.'  'Thanks! Keep up the good work!' He turned his head, and his eyes fell on the old creek that ran next to his house. He had never seen how full of life it was. 'It must be easy, being a small bug like that. Only having to worry about your family, and where to sleep in the evening. I hope Lisai is doing alright.' 'Ehm.. Mex?' Christopher whispered. 'Do you even know what we're looking for?' Mex turned his head. 'Huh? Oh, right.' He said absent minded. 'Not really, but your sister gave me this piece of paper. I didn't understand any of it.  However she made it very clear that I handed it to you.' Mex started to pat his pockets, and pulled a piece of paper out of one of them. 'Here you go.' He handed it over. As soon as  Christopher layed his eyes on the paper, the started to sparkle. 'I know this!' He said eagerly. 'It's army writing! Only royal nights can read this. Queenly said that I had to learn it, so that we could communicate in battle.' 'That's great!' Mex said. '... What does it say?' Christopher unwrapped the letter, and his eyes moved from left to right at a speedy pace. 'Well..' His face turned slightly red. 'I know some of these signs..' 'You've got to be kidding me?' 'What part can you read?' 'She wrote, that an old story could lead us there. And.. Erm.. Something about a house in the middle of the forest... I'm sorry Mex.' 'If that's our only lead, then we need to head over to the centre. It's out only shot.' 'Yes, sir!'

They stood infront of the entrance of the forest. It was guarded by tall, grim looking trees. Various noises could be heard. Varying from loud screams, to soft chirping. 'I never remembered that the Pannack forest was so big... This will take a while.' 'Mex?' Christopher said, while eating some rice cake. 'Do you have any idea what this forest looks like?' Mex shook his head. 'Only from stories. But we can't turn back now.' A loud roar came from somewhere far away inside the forest. '... No, we can't. Atleast, I can't. If you've changed your mind, feel free to go away now.' 'No way!' Christopher said energetic. 'It's the least I can do for you. I can't let you go alone in there! Unless you think of me as a burdon.' 'Not at all.' Mex said. 'your company might be the only thing keeping me sane here. If I had to investigate this all by myself, I would probably lose my mind real quick.' He gave a thumbs up to Christopher. 'So, consider yourself a valluable member of this party!' 'Hehe.' Christopher chuckled. 'Okay! Let's do this!' After his first steps inside the forest, his eye caught a stick laying around. He decided to pick it up. It was way lighter than his sword. Both armed, they felt a bit safer.

'What to do with you...' Queenly said, thinking out loud. 'You're lucky that I can't do you any big harm.' She was pacing back and forth. ''You know, I had a lot of men in this room. They either left happy, or not at all.' "So happy seems the only option, huh?' Lisai said conceited. 'If you do as much as breaking my nail, my brother would never work for you!' 'And how I would miss that.' Queenly said sarcastic. 'It's not like I don't like you... Wait, let me start over darling. I do not like you. But I have much better things to do. If I wished, I would let you hang from the heighest tree in town, and celebrate it every year.' She put her lance between the bars, and poked Lisai's forehead with it. ''And i'm not exaggerating. I would turn it into a nice lovely family holiday. But I can't. The price that i'd have to pay would be way too high. Even if the reward is so much worth it.' She pulled her lance out, and put her arm to rest on the backside of it. 'I know what you are. But there are no words that can describe that.' 'If that's the case.' Lisai sighed 'You're taking a really big risk here.' 'I'm aware of that sweetie.' Queenly said in her signature tomboyish voice. 'But I was hired to protect my people. And you are not one of them.'
