'Quick! Get out!' The inspector grabbed Gantius by his waist, and took him over his own shoulder. Just in time, the two of them escaped the burning room with the portal to another world. Hasty, Kathlyn and Felma made their way over to the smoke. 'Oh dear, what happened here?' Felma's concerned voice echoed througout the large hallways. 'There's no time to explain, get some sand from the garden a.s.a.p! We need to put this fire out, right away!' Felma looked shocked by how heroic the Inspector was looking. 'Yes, ofcourse!' Kathlyn was already out with a bucket. Mighty flames roared throughout the doorway. Nothing that was inside there could have survived. Gantius coughed 'I-inspector.. Please.. You don't understand.. They had to know...' The inspector groaned, he had forgotten all about Gantius and his actions. 'I'll deal with you when you're in a better condition.' The inspector put Gantius on his side, and helped Felma and Kathlyn put out the fire. 'My people... They will be destroyed.. N-no.. They are alright... They have shut me off for so long, and they survived.. They came back... They can survive without me, they can survive without my stories..' Somewhere, he felt sad that he wasn't as important as he thought he was. Yet he was glad that the story of Garlox could live on somewhere else, as it was almost being forgotten there where it once originated from. The sounds of a firetruck could be heard outside. The fire had taken over a small part of the hallway, but was put out pretty quickly. The Firemen hadn't even started to extinguish the flames, or the inspector tried to get back inside. 'There is some crucial information inside! You have to let me atleast grab something!' One of the firemen shook his head. 'No can do sir, whatever was inside has gone with the wind, or soaked with the foam we used to put it out. It doesn't mix well with sand, you know.' The fireman turned around, and returned to his duty. 'Hey, mister. Perhaps it was a smart plan to not light a cigarette in there. Paper doesn't like fire.' With a look in his eyes that could kill, the inspector glared over at Kathlyn who couldn't keep her smart mouth shut. 'Maybe. But luckily I don't take the dumbass cake today. Gantius was still laying out flat on the ground, rethinking the choises that he had made. 'I know i'm not as high up as you guys, but I demand a meeting.'
'I'm not some sort of dog that you can order around! When I first got here, you were praised for your tactical skills. Go figure yourself!' Mex stared angrily at Queenly, who could do nothing but laugh it off. 'You're so cute. But, don't you remember our deal?' Mex's gaze turned somewhat confused. 'You promised me a plan, as long as you can take that amazone of a friend with you. Certain things have changed, but you still owe me one plan. Maybe I would encourage you if I played like the big bad wolf? With only one huff, and one puff... Your house would be torn down to the ground!' Queenly seductively walked around Mex, trying to encourage him. 'I only create plans for a war that can't be stopped. These people have done nothing to you!' Queenly was behind Mex, and quickly grabbed him by his neck. February tried to step in, but the guards that Queenly had brought raised their weapons against them. ''Have done nothing to me'? You couldn't be more wrong. But, I understand your confusion. Let me explain. Queenly's grip tightened as she started to explain. 'I don't need to explain anything to you, you can trust me. Okay? Cheopia is filled with bad people, and I need to get rid of them. They form a threat to me and my people. You are one of my people, don't you want me to be able to protect you and your new friend?' Mex felt that he didn't have a choise. He wanted to protect February as well. She needed to come along, and meet the sorceress of Cheopia. She could help her find her parents, find her people. It felt like he wanted to help February more than that he cared about helping himself. 'Fine, but I want to make one alteration to our deal. Queenly loosened her grip on Mex's neck as he spoke. 'Well, what is it?' 'In order to make you the perfect plan, I need to see the surroundings. Get a good feeling of what's going on you know.' Queenly's voice turned ice cold. 'What are you suggesting?' Mex freed himself from Queenly's grip, and spoke to her face. 'I want to visit Cheopia, just the three of us. You, February and me. No questions asked.' Queenly seemed to be lost in thought about Mex's proposal. 'Let me make you a counter offer. I can take three guards with me. And you can be happy that i'm even giving you this much space.' Mex looked at February for information. But February didn't see where he was going at. 'Consider it a deal.' Queenly let out an obnoxious laugh, and offered him her hand. 'Than it's a deal. Let's shake on it.' Morally challenged, Mex accepted Queenly's hand, and shook it.
'You seem to be holding on pretty well for a dying god.' Mex was staring outside. The waterfall that could be seen outside the window had changed. It felt somewhat uneasy to look at. 'Sounds like something a mere mortal would say. You have no idea about dying gods, don't you?' Mex shook his head. 'Can't say that I've met one, let alone a dying one.' Garlox seemed to be somewhat at ease, now that he had finally told someone. 'It's weird. It just felt like yesterday that I held you in my hands. You were the light.' Mex shook his head, and turned to Garlox. 'I was never the light, nor the darkness. I am in between, for all my life. You never carried me, yet Youka never carried me as well. I have to make my own decisions.' Garlox tried to smile patiently at Mex, but somehow it just didn't feel right. 'But.. You have to be influenced by one side or another. There is no grey area where you can hide in. 'There might be. And then again, what would my opinion matter? I'm the least important of the three pieces. I don't fight, I have no purpose. Only my body had, once.' 'You shouldn't think like that, I believe that you are just as equal. In my world, you death was the cause of a new birth. A birth that would change the world as I know it. As my father knew it, and his father before him. Even before the music box came to be.' 'The.. Music box? You make it sound childish.' Garlox shook his head, and started to tell. 'You see, our world was born from a single musical note. Just like sheet with music, a universe can be changed in whatever way possible. There are so many instruments, so many different tones.. The possibilities are endless. The supreme god chose to send a music box down to my world, to give one person the task of being god. As it descended from above, the musicbox got hit by a star. This made one tone sound off. Where it should play as two differen tones, these two came closer together, and sounded nearly identical. two worlds that shouldn't be this close together, came closer than ever before. My great grand father found the music box, and protected it. He passed it down to his son, and he passed it on to his son. Eventually, my grandfather was the proud father of my father, and his twin brother. He, was also meant to be one person, yet he didn't. My father was born blind, and his brother was born deaf. Together they could have ruled everything, but my uncle became corrupted with sin. Just like you, one person had to decide for good, or for evil.
