'C'mon!' A gentle voice said. 'Big brother, you promised me to go to the woods today!' Mex felt the small hands of his sister, shaking him back and forth. 'Ugh' he groaned. 'Can't I fulfill promises some other day?' 'Nooo!!!' She screamed, shaking her brother even more violent. 'You proooomised today!' 'Fine.' He groaned again, but knew that this was the only way to make it stop. 'Just give me sometime to get dressed, okay?' 'Ofcourse, big brother!' His sister happily skipped out of their room, giving her brother some time to get ready. 'Ugh... I should have known that I couldn't talk myself out of that one.' Mex looked outside of his room, only to see his little sister happily jumping up and down. He smiled, and got out of bed. His feet felt tingly, but he didn't pay any attention to it.
'Are you done already?!' His sister yelled from the doorway. 'Yes.' He said, while tying his last shoe lace. 'I'm almost there, Lisai.' The tingly feeling didn't go away, but Mex decided to go out anyway. As soon as they walked out of the door, a mysterious light covered the landscape. 'Boy', Lisai said, 'It sure is looking funny today. Right, big brother?' 'Huh?' He looked down at his sister, who already had put her hand in his. 'Yeah, I think so.' 'When do you think mommy and daddy will return?' Lisai looked up at Mex, looking hopeful. But also a little bit sad. 'Well', Mex seemed a little nervous, because he didn't know as well. 'They said that they'll be back as soon as possible.' 'It's okay.' Lisai mumbled. 'I still have you to protect me, right?!' 'Ofcourse!' Mex gave Lisai a comforting smile. 'Let's go. Alright?' 'Yay! I can't wait to meet the new born creatures.'
They walked, and walked. The house that they lived in disappeared in the background. It wasn't a big house, but they managed. The house was standing on a hill, making animal husbandry very difficult, they had to live from selling spirtual goods. Luckily, Mex and Lisai's mother was a powerful sorcerers. Sadly, having a mother like that, also had it's disadventages. Many of the townspeople didn't want to get close to either Mex or Lisai. They both lived in solitude. But it was okay, they both had eachothers back, always. Trips to the woods were very dangerous. That's why Mex's parents never saw eachother very much. Mex's father, who was a very strong man, usually went to the woods to gather the stuff that his wife needed for potions and such. He would often leave for four days. Sometimes he would be hurt as well. But she would always heal him. This lead to having less supplies, and making less money. That's why Lisai and Mex had to step in from time to time. Lisai would sell flowers in one of the most famous bars. And Mex would work as a polishing boy for many royal knights.
'Are we there yet?' 'Hmm?' Mex said absent minded. 'Oh, right. The forest.' 'You.. look a little absent.' Lisai let go of her brothers hand, and stood still. 'We could also... Go tomorrow..' she clearly seemed dissapointed. But she didn't want to tire her brother even further. She knew that he had been working lots of hours with the royal knights. 'Look..' Mex kneeled in front of his sister. 'It's alright. I just...' He looked away, with his face turned to the castle. 'I just have to meet up with someone. Okay?' 'With who?' She asked. 'Are you going to leave me all alone?!' Her eyes got teary, and her nose runny. 'No!' He replied quickly. 'I.. I guess you could come along?' 'Really?!' She spoke with a tone, brighter than the sun in the sky. ''Are you going to introduce me to the knights?!' 'N-no.' He stuttered. ''I'm not going in as a polish boy. It's something personal.' 'So.. You're not..?' Lisai seemed a bit dissapointed. 'In that case.. I'd better go pluck some flowers..' 'Just be you.' He put his hand on his sisters shoulder. 'Okay?' '... Fine' Lisai took her basket with her, as she wandered off to the village garden.
'Right, here we go.' Mex inhaled deeply, as he tried to work up some courage to get inside the big castle. He looked around, and saw many familliar faces. People who would purchase potions from his mother, or friends from the bar where his dad took him some times. They all looked rather filthy. It discouraged Mex to try hard. As if everyone, who wasn't royal, would never be able to get anywhere in life. Nonetheless he shook his head, and took the stairs to the king's castle. It was large, and white. And had lots of guards, and a very big garden. The queen often sat there with her husband, drinking tea, or play some chess. Most kings and queens where just rich. However the King and Queen of Pannack where smart as well. They hadn't lost a single war yet. Lining up their treasure chest with millions of gold pieces along the way. 'I'm sorry' Mex stuttered. 'Is it possible for me to meet Queenly?' One of the guards looked in Mex's direction. 'I'm sorry.' The guard said fiercely. 'There will absolutely be no peasants near the royal people. Now scram.' 'I'm not a... I will not..!' Mex cleared his throat. 'Please, I know Queenly personally. I'm one of the polish boys.' 'HA!' The guard let out a synical laugh. 'Peasants these days sure are desperate to meet some royals, don't you say?' The other guard started laughing as well. Red in shame, Mex tried to convince the guards that he had to see her. 'It's okay boys.' A sexy tomboyish voice said. 'I will make an exception for this peasant.' Both guards turned around, as Queenly appeared before them. 'Y-yes Miss Queenly, certainly.' The head guard smacked the other guard with his Armoured hand. 'I said let the boy in from the very start! Try to pay a little more attention next time!' 'Ouch!' The other guard grunted 'But... You just.. I...' 'Excuse me? Are you back talking to one of your supperiors?' 'Sir, no sir!' 'Good. Now let this peasant boy and Miss queenly be on their way.' Both guards stepped aside. 'Come.' Queenly said with a low, yet playful voice. 'I have been expecting you.'
